LF MR2 AW11 Parts :(
HELP!! So the other day my little Japanese ferrari and I decided to tag along with a Macrex cruise, I pulled over to fill up as everyone else continued on radioed in and said I'll catch up, little did I know I wasn't going to make much ground. I've pulled out of caltex and a Series 8 FD RX7 has decided to mess around with me, I wanted to scream "GO PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE." But he kept boosting in my face :( eventually I had enough and I've dropped a gear TVIS'ED away to get into the midst of traffic and away from this prick. Cruising along, about to turn right onto King georges rd and BAM a 2002 BMW 320i Decided to cut me off. The light when orange & he had a sudden change of mind then slammed on the brakes, putting immense amount of pressure on my slotted discs I came in hot to make out with his rear bar within milliseconds. My whole rear end came right up and my nose dived for hell, putting my driver side front end under his car and straight into his exhaust tip/rear bar He jumped out apologized, exchanged details etc etc Now I don't have insurance and technically it was my fault as I have no way to prove he cut me off + insurance will take my baby away from me and this is why I love Car Clubs. You guys are my insurance company I am in desperate need of the following: -Driver side fender -bonnet -front bar -reinforcement bar/radiator holder -driver side flip up head light (I don't even mind if its aftermarket, as long as its a tasteful aftermarket part) HELP MEEEEE!! (Parts, links to wrecks, aftermarket parts sellers anything) I was so looking forward to meeting a few of the locals at Toyota fest and I only purchase her a month ago. We didn't even get through the honeymoon period >.< -Daniel (:

My commiserations on your incident. Can I (apologetically) perhaps add to your misfortunes? Before you get too far into acquiring parts, check that the front rails are still straight, or if they'll need pulling out. It would be a shame to get all those panel parts, only to find the front end won't point.

Thank you for pointing this out, I will check as soon as possible. Though I have been considering, parting the car and selling everything on here then scrap the shell. Opinions?

Sorry to hear about your mishap :( I would be interested in buying some body parts if you do part it out. Please let me know if you decide to!

The vultures are circling!!! Is it your only car? if you have time on your hands I can definitely get parts from Japan for you to fix her up, but it might be a fair wait as my next shipment won't be here till next year probably.

I can get parts anytime. They just stay in storage till its enough to fill our allocation of the container.

Daniel - any progress on this? Reason I ask is I have a "project" AW sitting here, and it's been sitting for quite some time now. Recently there's been calls for a number of major components - drive shafts, gearbox, panels glass etc., and as much as it pains me to, maybe the project car is better as a parts donor vehicle. Currently it's a runner, but not registered. Has "most" of the blue interior trim, but not all. So, comments from the floor - do I part it out and keep 4 or 5 others on the road, or keep it together and finish the project?

Hey Dennis, I had a panel beater look at the car yesterday and said the easiest and cheapest way to fix the damage with prefect results is to find a nose cut.
I went and saw a 87 GZE today which has a slightly damaged nose and a bit of rust. Guy is asking $1000 without seats, motor and gearbox. Slightly tempted to buy it 1. To sell the parts and help others 2. Possibly fix my car with it if the parts are salvageable 3. As a parts car if anything else ever happens.
I'd prefer to find a mr2 with a good front end or at least a nose cut that is in good shape because I do also need some interior parts.
Really don't know what to do at this point :(

That is pretty pricey for a damaged shell, you should be able yo do better. Eric recently purchased a non-running 86 AW11 which came with a few spare engines for $1k.

I agree with fredhoon, 1K seems to much. Offer him $500 and I'll buy some bits off it :)

Yeah I don't really want to buy it hey. I am 90% sure it was in the QLD floods because it has rust everywhere! and the parts guy bought it from Brisbane I believe. I really only wanted it for the rear visor with "TOYOTA" across it, the GZE Rear light pods, the power window relay and his center console.

Have you looked into eBay? There are a couple of sellers who regularly part out Adubs. I have bought from both of them without issue, however shipping costs are a bitch. If you go down that path and are intending to ship some large items post up a group buy as I am keen to split shipping for some items that are unaffordable by themselves.
