GEN3 3SGTE hose from hell metal pipes - help needed

Hey everyone, I've yet again done something weird and built a frankenstein engine for my GT4. It has a gen4 3SGTE block, gen3 3SGTE head, and 5S crank.
I'm struggling to figure out the pipework for the oil cooler and hoses from hell.
The one under the thermostat is solved - I used a gen 4 OEM hose.
The one under the exhaust manifold is a problem though. The location and shape of it looks good as per the gen 4 OEM hose (which is straight, whereas the gen 3 OEM hose is bent), though the diameter of the pipe connected to the block is larger than the diameter of the pipe on the oil cooler. The gen4 OEM hose has the same ID on both ends of the hose and won't fit the pipe on the block.
My theory is that the metal pipes that go under the exhaust manifold are gen3.
If any of you have easy access to a gen3 pipe or a gen3 oil cooler, can you please measure the OD of both and let me know what it is?
I want to know what I am working with before I decide on which path to take. My options are -
  1. Find a reducer pipe that will fit from another car (assuming that one exists)
  2. Change the metal pipes to gen4 (assuming the gen4 pipes will match the gen4 oil cooler pipe OD). This option will be a lot harder because the engine is in the car
Thanks in advance!

Mr Glengineering.

I just found this video on the Toobs and the pipe on this gen4 looks smaller than the one on my car which makes it more likely that I have a gen3 pipe on my car.
It can be seen at 15:56 in the video.

This is the pipe I'm talking about. This is Gen4. My pipe looks bigger.

Can anyone help to measure the outer diameter of a gen3 cooling pipe?

    +1 (1)
I found a reducer heater pipe from a Ford Fairmont to use for my hose from hell. This has a larger ID on one end that suited the GEN3 pipe (assuming it is GEN3), and a small diameter ID on the end that connects to the GEN4 oil cooler. I had to cut it to be the right length for the job, though it worked and fits nicely.
As usual, it was a prick of a job to fit, though thankfully my car is a GT4 and not a MR2. The MR2 would have been a lot harder to do because of the more difficult access to the hot side of the engine.
The hot side faces the front of the car in the GT4. 👍
