    I can see the SC option will be the first FI for the engine. What with all the modern electronics controlling the engine, Turbocharging will be some time to come.

    I know of a brz in the build in vic with a cosworth 2.6, motec m1 and holinger 6 speed....
     
    As for turboing the FA20 motor, subaru released info on their 221kw turbo version of the engine, although it uses the subaru version of the direct injection, and not the toyota version. I'm sure some retro fitting could be done on the factory improved approach.

    That whine is the sound of inefficiency. Eg TRD Aurion S/C they made quiet.

    No its a symptom of it. Friction is the cause.

    Actually there are many reasons for whine, it is a result of various things friction not really being the main player. and is different blower to blower.

    for instance the blower on my car is very loud, later versions are quiter due to gear and lobe design (angle, not friction related)
