1997 MR2 Bathurst Gearbox

Is anyone able to shed some light on the 5 speed box in the Bathurst please?
I've been told they're the same as a V6 Camry or Supercharged Corolla. What code is the gearbox (s54 or E series etc.) and where can I find it on the gearbox?
3rd sometimes grinds and I've been quoted $4k to repair if I take my box into the specialist. I've had rev 2s previously and noticed that the ratios are different, the Bathurst seems to be longer ratios. In my jap delivered rev 2s the ratios keep you in the 5,500rpm rev range for ACIS system, whereas the Bathurst drops to 5,000rpm just outside of the ACIS. Thank you

Will tell you on the manufacturers plate located on the firewall in the frunk. Left hand side I think.

And now my friend, the first rule of Italian driving. Whatsa behind me (breaks rear view mirror off and tosses it behind him), is not important!

Will be S54. Final drive ratio 3.944. Not denoted on gearbox itself. If from a 1997-1998 it's likely to have a torsen lsd.

Cheers mate. I'll try find final drive ratio of the Jap versions too. Mines a June 1997 rev 4 but no LSD. Definitely open diff.
