Closed door respray?

Guys,

Looking at respraying the car for a freshen up.
It’s a 91 nautical blue metallic.

Looking at a closed door respray. I have spoken to some people and the pricing has been between 1500-6k

What should i be expecting and do we know anyone around Sydney??

Thanks
EL

    The best colour
I looked into closed door respray a couple of years ago.  Got prices from 2 places in Newcastle.  Both said they take it back to bare metal because you don't know what is under the paint.  Otherwise there is no warranty.
    First one said ................ $10 - 15K & would take 2 months.
    2nd one said $6 - 10k & would take a month.
Apparently the metallic finish adds to the cost.  Needless to say I was a bit surprised & haven't had it done yet.  Other things were more important.  I will eventually get it done tho.

One of the guys in Sydney had his done a couple of years ago & it turned out great, not sure who did it.  It was a closed door, but a change in colour.  I think it was more that your $6k tho.

I'm currently also looking at a closed door respray (without colour change).  I spoke to a local shop, they said $6k-$8k and it would take a couple of weeks, or $2k if I strip and sand the car.  So I'm planning on stripping all the plastics off the car (bumpers, mirrors, door handles, rear wing, side strips, etc.) and sanding it back.  They also said the front windscreen and the rear quarter windows will need to be removed from the car.

This same shop did my ute two years ago and I've been really happy with the paint job they did
