Front Underbody Panel Attachments

I have a 1990 SW20 with the underbody panels attached normally.
I wish to attach a Rev 3 OEM lip.
Are the attachment points the same for the underbody with the Rev 3 front spoiler.

If the attachments stay the same it means every time I need to remove the underbody panel... I have to also take the Rev 3 lip off. PITA if that's the case. Wouldn't think there would be an attachment between the spoiler and body...would leave a gap of some sort.
Are the underbody panels different on Rev 3 cars?
Logically it would seem that the Rev 3 panels would have a deeper front edge to be able to attached to the bottom of the OEM front spoiler.

Can anyone enlighten me on what they have done with the Rev 1 panels when putting a later model front spoiler on a Rev 1 Mr2.

And now my friend, the first rule of Italian driving. Whatsa behind me (breaks rear view mirror off and tosses it behind him), is not important!

I fitted the later front lip to my 90 model and used the original 2 piece underneath front panel/s that mated up to the new lip OK.
You need that fitted for strength and stiffness, and can be removed independent of the lip.

You will definitely need the aluminum later model mounting strip kit shown below (6 main pieces + fasteners) that is not used on the early lip.
The front lip is also shown in the pic.

I should also mention that without the proper mounting kit, you may not be able to mate up the new lip properly to the lower part of the front bumper, and it may sag and distort over time.

It is quite a while since I did this job on my own car, but I seem to remember that it did need a bit of coaxing to get it lined up OK, and there may have been a couple of the original plastic tabs broken.
However, it did fit OK and still looks good after many years with no warping or sagging.

    Thanks Reddtarga

I have the rev 3 lip still attached to the bottom of the bumper when I purchased it, (the lip), so all the mounting strips are complete and intact. As long as I can separate them without breaking any haha.

To confirm...where / how did you actually mate up the front under panels. Do the under panels mate up to the bottom of the Rev 3 lip. I didn't think that they would reach.

    Thank you for the reply.
