A new thread for my old car. ST162

I built this a few years ago. I would like to build another one. Its the same spec as a Nissan Pulsar but quicker.
The engine was rubbish, alignment was iffy, first time in the car on the old Wakefield Park surface managing a 1.15.77
The is something about driving a car with nothing in it except for a seat and steering wheel for driver comforts. Its load and fun no matter how quick or slow you go!
If the 3SGTE doesn't sell, I should buy old ST162 and do a north south conversion with a Nissan GTST diff in it. That would be pretty mad.

The bottom link is the old thread from twin cam.org.

Not sure if you saw my 3sge into RA60 thread, but if your 3s dosnt sell, i think an ra60 would be a better candidate for the 3s swap ;)

Yes Eric, I have been keeping an eye On the build. I will not be building any more than the Sw20 at this stage. Need that one running correctly before I build anymore weapons.
A 2zzcould be a good choice for a st162 build. Would save a few kilograms over the iron block.
It was such a great little car to drive.

Another one will come along. There are a few about.
The MR2 disc and calipers are a bolt on. Expect a few other parts are too.
The bush kit was about $100, bearings were around the same.
    The MR2 axles bolt in.
Camber bolts were used for some needed camber.
I sold these tacky chrome rims then bought the enkei's for $250 or something around that figure. Picked up the four tyres at the CAMS state championships for $80 or something silly. Came off a MX5.
Its a shame I didn't remove the running gear so I could seam weld the engine bay. Everything else was seam welded.
That was a pretty funny exercise. Hired a welder for $150 then 'worked it out' on the car! Had the it completed over a weekend. A few cans of $5 gloss black from the $2 shop and looked 'mint bro'.
I had some wiring issue which cost $250 for a sparky to come out to the house and fix it.
Bolted in the old race seat from my simulator and off you go.
Found the harness on ebay for $100 and still have it. Its what I use in the MR2.

The track day was a Nissan deal. a few people laughed, was a bit of a joke for all these 'Nissan aficionado's '. Even had some turkey stunned at my on track wheel alignment. Said something smart but I shrugged it off and sorted the alignment.
Then I got the car sorted (alignment)after a few sessions then started cutting times. They made jokes how slow it was on the straight. It was very slow but after the straights finished the tide changed. I beat half the field. That shut them up. There was a top ten shootout for under and over a particular time. I was on track to win the B class but had an off which ended that goal. Most of these cars were all 20k plus street machines which made it all the sweeter. When someone said you need more power I said ' you will not keep up when the turbo is fitted'.
Not long after that, the MR2 Turbo appeared on the radar and that story can be found on this website and a few others. Funny thing is, if I did return with the SW20 when it was sorted, I would have been a top 5 finisher without any trouble at all.
Here are the times from that day

    My SW20 has done a 1.08.1

What would be cool for a build of one of these cars is:
    GT4 rear end
    2GR-FE
    Celica 5 Speed
    Modified firewall
    fibreglass doors, hatch
    widebody or flares
    lexan windows
    KW coilovers
    Delta V brake kit
    17x 10.5/17x9
    Cage
