The timing belt was done by the previous owner just before I bought it so it has only done 30,000km, I just inspected it whilst I had it off to make sure it was not showing any signs of defects and it was ok so I left it.

Yeah from all the oil tests I have run on the engine since owning it every sample has come back very clean, all in all everything has pointed to a very healthy engine so I have been very happy. :-)

So I had been wanting to update the seats in my MR2 ever since I bought it as that was one of the things I had on my list of things I wanted to do and I had always been keeping an eye out for a nice clean set of Recaro SR5's I also wanted them in black with red stitching so that kept me searching for a bit longer.
A few weeks back a nice clean set came up for sale and Olivia got them for me for an early birthday present
I then ordered a set of Bride RO rails from Japan and the other day got a chance to fit them up.

I love the look of them and they are nice and comfy although I am not completely happy with how they fit up on the rails as I feel they could do with sitting about 20mm closer to the center arm rest and I would have liked if it had a little bit more rearward adjustment, so when I have some more time I will probably remove them and adjust the rails a bit to get them sitting better, for now I am very happy to have them in the car.

So I haven't been able to do a lot on my MR2 for a while whilst we are building our house, I have been making plenty of plans and slowly accumulating parts though.

Anyway today I got something to help scratch my itch to modify something on an MR2, another MR2 to play with...

Well kind of anyway lol

That's sweet, I've got about 5 mr2 kits but have not seen that one. You going to build it as shown?

I'm probably going to build it up how I would like my car to eventually look, so this was the first one I had seen that had the 94 front lip rear wing and tail lights all the others I had seen were of the earlier model.

I think I must have at least 10 of these SW20 kits in various forms, built about 4 over the years. All mine have been 94+ though, never seen an early spec one.

I've gone to a better place - PM me for info

I've found both early and late models in HT and targa, turbo and NA as well as a funky widebody (not trd) one.  Also aw11.  Only built about half of one though, so hard to find the time it takes to do these properly.  Actually now i think about it my old man bought me one when I was about 14 that had an autopista kit on it, that I did finish. I reckon I might even still have it if I can sus which moving box I've stored them all in.

So not a lot has happened with my 2 in a while, I have just been enjoying it probably racking up the KM's quicker than I would like but hey they are meant to be driven aren't they!
Anyway with the Newcastle all Japanese Car Show on over the weekend and the club attending the event I thought I should give my 2 a tidy up, the front lip was looking a little sad with quite a lot of stone chips and in general the whole car could do with a good detail from being driven daily. So I stripped back the front lip repainted that and then gave the whole car a good detail which I was quite happy with how it cam up. Whilst I was at it I also fitted up a set of brand new anniversary door sills I had sitting waiting to go on the car which I love the look of.

All in all had a great weekend and enjoyed the show.

Looks awesome! I may get myself a pair of those sills at some point in the future. Shame I couldn't make the day. Have you considered the new JDM green plates so you don't have to bend your rear plates?

Hi Matt, when I first heard about the JDM style plates I was interested that was until I saw them.... I lost interest right there! For me I am not a fan as I like the slim line of my current plates and the red colour of them, the JDM plates are way too big and I have no desire for white and green plates ether.
