Hi All, Apologies if the title is offensive to any, but I have posted the link below, something I think we shold be aware of - it offended me that someone with a history like the guy involved has attempted to sue TB for an engine mount design he thinks he owns... http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?18231-What-is-the-world-coming-to If you are interested in V6 conversions and use TB forums, thn consider donating That is all

I don't know what the problem is. Obviously if they are retracting it for sale he had good reason and even the other party thought he could win the case. AFAIK, they basically copied his mount he originally made. Also appears that the original manufacturer of the mount and Paul Woods (???) have some serious history.
End of the day, who cares, purchase the mount from the original manufacturer, it can still be had.

The mounts arn't a 100% copy (they have some fitment improvements) and it's rather hard to do the mounts in any other way then the outlined design(I'm currently looking at this myself for my 1MZ!).

Tony, AKA 4V6. He was the one that made the mounts and sold them to a lot of UK, US and AU converters (Vinny and Jaemus have these mounts), he disappeared off the face of the earth for 12-18 months, people had no solution so TB decided to make their own version of the mount (Similar, but not identical) with some improvements. He returns and starts selling mounts again, TB decided to proceed with selling their mounts as they had invested time and money to produce their own. 4V6 did his lolly and accused them of directly cloning his mount design and threaten legal action...

if u are creating a design and there is a patent associated with it existing i could understand but wouldn't the structural component need to be quite similar?
Its like toyota making an oem part and then say kelpro made their aftermarket version which would infact have to be identical for a correct fit.
With that in mind i mean no disrespect to the original creators and their hard work, i am in the pursuit of further information on this topic for self interest.

If you read some of the background posts and threads, it seems this guy was unreliable when he was posting to the TB Forum, and then he disappeared leaving numerous members of the TB Fourm up in the air re: the supply of the mounts.
He could have been away for any reason in the world, which is his own business and no one elses. Even his past business conduct (unbreliability) is no one elses business but his own. But following his 18-month absence, TB filled a hole for it's members. To return citing legal action against a community of MR2 enthusiasts, specifically V6 conversion MR2 enthusiats (a pretty niche market), who have no tangible assets and who run stuff out of the enthusiasm rather than as a commercial enterprise - that's what I find objectionable.
What could he possibly expect to "win"? [x2x]
