AW sunshades

my shades dont stay in properly. they are in perfect condition but the arm on the latch doesn't seem long enough to hold them in sufficiently.
they stay for awhile then after a few bumps fall out, especially the drivers side.
Is this normal?
I have fixed this by breaking an icy pole stick in half and slipping in place , but its not cosmetically pleasing.
Maybe i should paint the icypole stick to match the sunshade?

Mine do the same thing! The passenger side stays put, but the driver's side falls on my head. I just don't use them, as my head rubs on the shade anyway. I had the targa's double-tinted instead.
