Looks like a great idea. I can't see a problem with it if the sizing is correct and it fits precisely.

I got a bit carried away methinks 2016/04/03 17:52:27 (permalink)

I removed the Fujitsubo exhaust to replace the gasket where the pipe leads into the mufflers as it was leaking.
I discovered that mesh clogged with deposits was sitting in the entry to the mufflers. I'm guessing this may have come down from the pre-muffler (if thats what you call it). Either that or someone had jammed it in there to quieten it (doubtful). It looks like it was originally a lot longer and more spread out, but was now very compressed at the muffler inlet/divider. I've totally removed it, and now it sounds heaps better - more edgy note without being much louder.
While i had the exhaust out, i decided to give it a bit of a clean... a day later, numerous sheets of wet and dry and a tube of Autosol later and its now very shiny :)

More power!

Yep, I reckon removing the mesh blocking the flow of exhaust gases will free up a few HP, and the polished finish should add at least 50 HP lol.
I might have to invest in some TRD badges and decals to get some serious power improvements.....

I finally cracked a 1:28 at Mallala. The lap i managed it on was the one lap where i had a clean run with no traffic.
On an earlier session that i had a clear run, until the last 2 laps where there were yellows out for a stranded car, i was consistently running 1:29's. In fact, in every session i managed to beat my previous best times
The Eibach Pro-Kit springs definitely made a difference to the handling on the limit.
Having a harness fitted helped me stay in the seat, making the whole experience a lot better.
Getting below a 1:28 will take a lot more practice.....

Great job on finding that mesh stuffed in there - you never would of known otherwise!
Definitely would of helped with proper flowing exhaust gasses and whatnot

After a clean up, that exhaust looks absolutely stunning! Makes me want to detail my own haha - if only it were something flashy to actually show off ;)

All my sessions were pretty consistent despite it being a very windy day (40km/h headwinds down the back straight ) and a heap of other cars on the track...

Hi Rick.
I really enjoyed that. Thanks.  That little beams sure loves to rev.  Comes on strong.
Those lap times are way too consistent !  Yer need ta balls-up tha braking n then run wide n cross ter  otherside.
An that's jes one corna.   Hang on,  that's how I drive.
Cheers mate.   Good to see you at it.
