RIX MR2
This is my SW20. It's a 97 Bathurst that is totally original atm. I picked it up in February with only 125,000kms on it. Many changes are planned, with a BEAMS half cut arriving soon. Funds are limited, so things will take time. Rick

Looks very clean indeed. I think you snagged a bit of a bargain there Rick.

Party time begins! My first recommendation is that you get the exhaust heat shields and bolts ceramic coated before you do the swap. Doesn't cost too much and the shields look much better in matte black than corroded silver. Have fun

I had mine done at this place in Sydney: http://www.performancecoating.com.au/ I can't remember off the top of my head how much it was, but I think it was around $160-180, or possibly even a little less. If you email them photos of the parts, they'll be able to do a quote using those. Mandalay would know of some places in Melbourne that do it too. As you can see by his photos, he's had a lot done!

Thanks guys, Any recommendations as to things i should do before fitting the Beams? I plan on replacing belts, oil filter and plugs. Is it worth flushing the engine before putting new oil in?

If the engine is out. I would strip it, have it chemically cleaned, put a set of rings and bearing, belts etc then install it. Looks like a great build. I drove Tree's car a while ago with the same engine. Great little package.

Thanks guys, I'll probably go with the 100,000 km service. Supposedly the engine has only done 47,000 kms, but I'd prefer to err on the side of caution.

Maybe inspect the clutch for good measure and possibly replace coolant pipes

Maybe change the thermostat too while it's easy & potentially save yourself heartbreak in the future. Changing coolant pipes not a bad idea either, Toyota OEM pipes aren't expensive.
