Sorry this was posted in a rush. I should have qualified. These are USD prices and not yet delivered. There is potentially upto a 10% discount if I reach a certain quantity of order ($USD5k). Shipping is will be charged at cost. Where you'll be saving is in shipping costs due to a group purchase, and also if we reach the first discount bracket of a $5k order.

If you end up with a large shipment, wont you be liable for GST negating the discount? I don't mean to be a party pooper, but for example, the oil pump which you've priced at $220 is $150 from lithia toyota. I am sure even if you took 10% off and then added freight to the lithia price you'd still be ahead. Prices just don't seem competitive. I just went through a number of items and lithia list price was 65-70% of the pricing you've gotten consistently.

James, I don't get your point. "If you end up with a large shipment, wont you be liable for GST negating the discount?" If I've quoted that there's 10% off if we reach the quota, there's 10% off. How I deal with the GST etc is irrelevant. But however if you're so curious, this is a business, I can claim a GST refund from the ATO for GST I pay on customs clearance. "Prices just don't seem competitive. I just went through a number of items and lithia list price was 65-70% of the pricing you've gotten consistently." The whole point of this exercise was to get people who wanted parts from Toyota in the USA (Jacksonville was my contact so I went there) because its cheaper than Toyota Australia. I never proclaimed to be the cheapest available in the world?? It might not be as competitive pricing as somewhere else in the USA but these prices sure are more than competitive when comparing to local Australian suppliers. If you're implying that I've personally put on a margin and hence have made the pricing uncompetitive, I have the pdf quote from Jacksonville Toyota with those exact prices on it. Even if I had, at the end of the day, I'm trying to run a business here. If you're the kind of person who would rather bother people here locally to get you a better price than everyone else locally, but then just deal directly with someone in America, for the sake of saving a few dollars, then that's fine, you don't have to join this. However maybe others would rather pay the a little bit extra money (because paying 20% more for some of these items that aren't worth very much, doesn't end up being much at all) in order to have someone here deal with it, so they can pay in AUD into a Australian bank account, and not have to deal with someone in America. Maybe that is worth that extra 20% value for them. Maybe that 20-30% extra is worth it if something goes wrong and they don't have to deal with the problem themselves, and they find that someone else dealing with the problem is much easier. I'm not forcing anyone into joining the group buy. All I've done is list prices for you all to make your own decisions as to whether or not they're competitive. If you don't think they are then that's your perogative not to join. There's always going to be someone out there who'll do a cheaper price just to get business. And there's always going to be people who despite what services are offered, will just buy from the cheapest price.

Wow, settle down. What I am saying is your source isnt competitive. Lithia Toyota are a known, reliable, fast source. They aren't THE cheapest anyway. Aaron is great to deal with. He just gave me a one of 10% off my last order also. I am sure if you sent him an email saying you had a big order to put through, he'd quite possibly be able to offer you a discount. What I am trying to say is maybe you should do your GB through Lithia Toyota. I dont think its that hard to work out, we aren't talking rocket science here. I don't work for Lithia, nor do I have any financial interest. It is not like I am trying to poach business.

It was late and I'm irritable with a bung knee. perhaps i read your message with the wrong tone. Jacksonville had been fairly competitive previously for me, so I thought I'd use them again. If they are that much more than Lithia, then I might forward them an email for a quote too. At the moment, this Group buy has been far too much work for me so going to put it on the back burner for a bit till i get the motivation to do it again.
