The workshop manual has 60 degrees Celsius listed as operating temp?

Not sure if the 3S is higher?

If you dont do a 1.10, best sell it and buy a push bike!

The only thing stopping me is the fleshy thing behind the steering wheel. My aim with street tyres was 1.13 - hopefully I can do a 1.12 or better now

Last year I did a 1.16 with no alternator, hopefully the extra 40ish KW and tyres can get me there

Last year i did a 1:16.3 with 2 fewer cylinders, so you should be aiming for a 1:10 or 1:11...

I dont want to aim too high (or low in this instance) and be dissapointed.

Hopefully Geoff Fear can give me some pointers

Going to see if I can squeeze it into the budget.

I may have to purchase a pair of rear tyres, as mine are close to the tread wear indicators.

I will be doing the Wednesday however

I'm taking my semi slicks down on separate rims, should get through MTC and maybe wednesday on them. they are well used.

Going to try a pair of NT05's on the rear if I can get them cheap enough.

Mine hovers around 90-95 normal hwy driving, ~100 with more spirited driving and maybe down to 80-85 if left to idle. I don't like to boost/lean on the engine too much til at least 80.

Lap times are hard to predict with added power. After going from 3sge to 2gr I'm only going a second and a bit quicker. There's plenty more in it of course but it takes time to learn the new setup and max it out. More to it than just upping the power and smashing off a few seconds. I'm sure you'll go quicker but it's difficult to say how much quicker just with more power. Would be extra hard for you since you only get to drive this track once a year.

You've got a good setup for this year! Plenty of power and good tyres. Just drive it til the brakes or tyres melt and have fun!

Well, MTC is fast approaching. I have 8 days until I leave and still plenty to do.

I received Gouky's test ECU back with the following changes.
  • Advanced timing in the low end
  • 7200RPM rev limiter
  • leaner tune (factory is 10.0:1)
So far, on street driving, the difference is pretty significant. The car no longer feels "lazy" in its low down acceleration, and it sounds sweet at 7k rpm.
I'm due to get my water injection set up on the 11th (next week) and I am also having it run on the dyno to check the AFR's before I go. I will take the standard computer with me incase there is any difficulties.

I also started work on my engine lid rack. Progress is good so far, but unfortunately the whole things twisted by a few mm's, which means that I can only JUST get the engine lid open. I will need to get the grinder back out for some clearancing.

Here is some photos as it sits now. There is a rectangular frame which bolts onto the two rails and holds 3 wheels

I still have to add some more supports, most importantly bracing diagonally back to the strut tower to stop the whole thing from colapsing on the lid. I will also add some gussets out of 3mm plate to all the corners. I really dont want this to fall off the car.

And finally, I will be adding an additional 3rd brake light onto the rectangular frame. Theres no problem with covering the rear window but the 3rd brake light is a legal requirement

Well thats another Wakefield park done and dusted! had a fantastic time this year, minimal problems and blew my PB out of the water! Will do a more in depth update soon.

I previously did a 1.16.52, however this time around i managed a 1.10.42!!

I also managed to take home 1st place in the modified over 2L class, which was a great feeling! I finished 4th outright.

The car had minimal problems. she did get a bit warm over time, so i will have to put a bigger radiator in. Apart from that, I am just happy to enjoy driving it!
