chase_d Bolt in seats and screw in mirrors Find where I put the drivers side targa roof if found, hose 3 months of dust off it. If not found drive it back in the shed for another 3 months.
Well that was a quick turn of events - from doing what I had planned to possibly selling it in an hours time.

Wash & Wax my baby after its stay at Toyota Hospital yesterday......had both clutch cylinders rebuilt and new front ball joints put in. A big thank you to Newtown Toyota for getting the clutch cylinders rebuilt in such a short time, and just before a long weekend!! Might also take some decent photos now that the new WORK wheels are on!!

Gatesys SW20 Monika how much? Thinking of getting new or rebuilt ones
Rebuild costs: Clutch Master Cylinder = $109 Clutch Slave Cylinder = $89 Not sure if there is a Toyota margin in the price, but it was still cheaper and quicker than getting new ones - after all the outer casing is still original!! The re-built ones come with a life-time warranty as they rebuild it with better parts - the originals lasted 19 years so these will probably be the only thing still working on the car in another 20 years!!! Of course labour cost to pull them out and re-install them is the real killer, but they also installed my new ball joints at the same time. They didn't take the front wheels off to change the ball joints because they were to afraid to touch them after I asked them to be very careful with my new WORK wheels, and not to use the compressed air rattle gun on them - maybe they haven't heard of an old fashioned wheel brace LOL.

Yes rattle gun over tightening can lead to snapped studs or impossible to remove nuts on the side of the road somewhere if you get a flat. Many people don't realize that mag wheel nuts should always be carefully tightened with a torque wrench, and in a diagonal sequence. I recently checked one SW20 recently that had lost one of the rear wheel nuts, and when I checked how tight the others were they were all loose with one I could undo by hand lol!! He had done them up by hand with a wheel brace. The torque setting I prefer is 65 ft/lbs, but the consensus seems to vary between 60 - 80 ft/lbs.

Rob I'll be returning the red one back to stock(ish) in regard to mechanicals and selling it, want to buy a classic, something that will increase in value. Im keeping the built engine though and a few other bits and pieces that I spent a fair bit on. Im planning to push the stock envelope as far as it will go with the black one, as I may do targa tasmania at some stage so need to keep the modifications reasonable. I'll be converting to E85 and W2A and will probably get a rebuilt ct20b at some stage. robk
stuka Finish fitting dump pipe and new booster/master cylinder, then going for a drive on some nice quiet tassie roads
I assume you're talking about your black MR2? Has there been any progress on the red one?
