Hey guys,
We are locked in as the 3rd team and I have updated the first post with preliminary team match ups.
Please comment if you think there can be stronger match ups made as I'm not familiar with everyones kart experience.

I will sort out exactly how the deposit for the booking will be handled this week.
There is an option for GTCC to pay for our current numbers and then we pay them (either through bank transfer or on the day).
I will be attending the dyno day and I could possibly collect the money then for those who do not want to use bank transfer.

Currently GTCC members are making their $75 payments to Sam Tea via his bank account:
Name: Sam Tea
BSB: 343005
Acc: 113097412
Description: MR2 club and name (Team #)

If you make your deposit this way please email myself at bjd.elec.eng@gmail.com and email Brandon brandon@gtcarclub.com

Thanks guys for showing interest. If it turns out to be a popular day for the attending members. I may ask the committee to organise an official MR2 club Go kart day.

I'd love to start my time here on a good note lol. (check my post in general mr2 stuff)

Sorry for the late reply been busy,
Guys for tomorrow please try to arrive early if you are not going to meet at the service station on Western Ring Road.
10:45 is when you should be at the track as we apparently need 30 mins for sign in and driver briefing.

Andrew - http://acekarts.com.au/raceformats.html We are apparently doing the Bathurst style package. so 15 mins quali 40 mins race. I have no idea how the driver changes happen as I've never done this before at acekarts.

Engineering_guy - you are more than welcome to come around to see if there are last minute drop outs tomorrow. But as of the start of the week numbers were being fixed. I'm sure I can organise more days in the future, where it will just be a private MR2 club session.

Also seems like there is not much interest in the Garage Cafe meet up tonight. So that is cancelled.
See all the participating drivers tomorrow.
Good luck Tree for your exams!

Hey guys, thanks alot for your participation today at the GTCC go kart challenge! Best result from our club was 6th out of 20 driver pair teams. We did not recieve the "wooden spoon" award. We had a total of 7 MR2 owners turn up today, we also fielded the largest team by far. Stay tuned to the MR2 forum and this facebook group for future events! For the guys asking how to join the MR2 club proper follow this link http://mr2club.com.au/vic/?page_id=6 A short report will appear in MR2 Track Record member newsletter. Thank you again.

lol I'm still sore from yesterday Andrew so I might give it a miss, do you want me to see if the other guys that came are interested?

Thanks for dropping by Jesse. I saw there are some people that missed out due to timing and the date. I can probably organise more days like this if there is a demand for it. I think before the next inter-club challenge happens we should have practice days before hand.

But really since it was a first time at the track for a lot of our team we didn't do badly at all.
Team 7 - Bryan & Hoang came 6th
Team 9 - Brendan & Andrew came 11th
Team 8 - Ken & Shamal came 13th
Team 10 - Glen & Jon came 14th.

Here's a FB link to some photos.

Are you guys interested if I try to organise a MR2 club only championship?
Say have 4 rounds a year, at different go-kart tracks around Melbourne every 3-4 months.
If the participants were paying club members we could probably have some trophies for each round implement an F1 style scoring system and have a drivers champ trophy at the AGM?
I am just throwing ideas out there, so feedback on the event that happened and what you like to happen would be great.

I am a committee member so anything you want to propose as a fun social event I can pass on.
Remember guys the club exists because of the members and it is for the members.

Thanks again guys!

I'd be keen for an MR2 Championship :)
I've been to AceKarts and the seating can be a little awkward. The fuel tank obstructs my leg so I got bruises around my knees one time and helmet bangs against the headrest. Can't imagine how aching endurance would be...real sprint karts are so much more comfy lol
