Some nice gold rotors arrived today :) Started fitting them Looking good through the wheels. With the gold/zinc coating it should stay this way. Now to find a set for the rear. Hmmm

Started work on the used SW20 3in Kakimoto exhaust that bought ages ago with the intention of getting it fitted to the AW11. Should free up some horses that are being held back with the current exhaust setup. (parts of the exhaust are 2.25in I think) Seems to be in pretty good condition, just a bit filty. The whole muffler section appears to be stainless so I'll clean it all up and give it a polish. Looks like it should fit and look good :) Same overall length as the 2.5in SC HKS muffler. From the rear it should look very Fujitsubo-ish being a huge shiny stainless JDM muffler.

Never realised an SW20 exhaust could fit an AW11.

With a little cutting and welding anything is possible haha They fit SW20 exhausts to MK1.5s in the US quite often actually. Stock and aftermarket. Never seen the Kakimoto fitted though so I'm hoping its all good.

I had always thought along the lines of a twin exhaust that's why (HKS, Phoenix Power, Greddy etc).

What I'm attempting to achieve is a bolt on JDM look if that makes sense? Like it was originally designed for the AW11. With the Kakimoto being a single exit on the correct side for the AW11 exhaust cutout and being polished stainless like the fujitsubos. Not keen on attaching a dual exit on a body that was designed to have only a single. They look okay but not right in my eyes.

Yeah I know what you mean. These final touches you've been doing on the AW11 are the icing on the cake.

Looks like your hks muffler is rusting out in the same spot mine did. Should free up a boatload of power too, and look so much nicer.

Wow looking fantastic! Solid work. What a great idea! Looks like a great bit of kit. Really keen to see how you go installing, and your thoughts on the SW20 Kakimoto exhaust. From the photos I reckon it'll look far better than the Fujitsubo Legalis equivalent, the Kakimoto muffler section looks far neater, better shaped and smaller I've no doubt you'll definitely get that OEM subtle/performance look. So good!

Thanks Shane! Dropped off the muffler to your mates at Performance Exhaust the other day to weld up a hole I found in it. They were busy as! Dropped your name so I hope I get a good deal haha.

Purchased a new turbo today to replace the old tired CT26 the previous owner fitted to my gen 3 3sgte. Blitz K1-380V. It is the same as the one pictured below :) I am picking it up in person from a shop in Adelaide next week when I'm there on a short holiday. Apparently has low KMs and is being removed from a ST215 Caldina. I will fit the brand new Berk Gen3 dump pipe at the same time the turbo is put on. Should provide a nice HP increase over what the engine has now. Coilover suspension is now on hold. This is much more urgent :)

Nice - how did you find the K1? I spent ages looking for one about 4 years ago when I had the *gofastmod* bug and wanted to swap out ct20b on my Gen 3 but couldn't find one in Aus. And why on earth would the previous owner put a ct26 on the gen 3? Good to know you're fixing that up!
