Mrskylighter Went and spoke to the local mechanic the other day about how much it would cost to get the new control arms, ball joints and tie rod ends fitted to the front of the AW11. He was a d!ck about it and I left with the sh!ts. Ended up downloading the AW11 BGB, bought a 1/2in torque wrench and a pitman arm puller (to pop out the tie rod ends) All up did the entire front end all torqued up to spec in about 2.5 hrs. Very happy with the result, no clunks and feels nice and tight!
I've been wanting to do similar on my 2 (bought ball joints, tie rod ends and bushes ages ago), what did you think of the kincrome torque wrench? They seem good for the price, but have seen plenty of recommendations for more expensive deflective beam types.

The torque wrench seemed to work well. I am assuming its reasonably accurate being brand new. I kinda drew the line at $100 and bought what I thought was best under that price as I won't be using it very often. Your welcome to borrow it and the pitman puller thing if you like to do your front end? Save you outlaying the coin for them.

Thanks mate appreciate the offer, but will likely buy one to add to the toolbox, will come in handy for more regular stuff like tightening wheel nuts as well. Where did you get yours from?

The kingchrome wrench was $85 from Bunnings and the tool to pop tie rod ends / ball joints was $31 from Autobarn. The Kingchrome is nice as it comes with a plastic case to store it in when not in use.

Installed a Turbosmart e-Boost Street 40PSI electronic boost controller tonight. Its lovely going back to an electronic controller :) The controller itself has a nice well built solid feel to it. Set the boost at 1.15Bar (almost 17psi) and it is rock solid. Turbo spools up quicker now due to wastegate being held closed longer.

Have been considering buying a set of new front rotors as I'm getting some shuddering through the steering wheel under braking. Anyway checked Ebay today and spotted a set of RDA slotted/dimpled Zinc coated rotors on clearance for $99. Snapped them up quick smart :) Normally these go for $350 or something. I'm expecting these gold ones to not suffer from the rusting issues of the regular RDA. Similar to these ones but with four studs etc

Nice find! I just went on to look and you must have gotten the last pair. Will be interesting to see if they are the gold zinc coated ones or not. Even the non-zinc dimpled and slotted ones are $150 or so via Gorilla Industries.

Managed to score a set yesterday, also added the rear non-zinc dimpled and slotted to the order, so only $240 for dimpled and slotted all around is pretty good in my book. They're showing product not found now, so maybe they only had two sets left? Here's hoping. Also need to put in an order on amazon.com for a new knock sensor soon, so will grab some EBC redstuffs all around when I do it. Screw paying $250 for a set here when I can get both sets for around $160. Tempted to do braided lines now while I'm at it. Still need to source some new wheel bearings first.

Good stuff. Congrats on getting them :) A full set of Red stuff pads for $160 is awesome! Let me know when you buy them and I might get a set at the same time if it saves us both on postage?

Postage is next to nothing, I get them shipped to a friend in the states who forwards them for like $10. It will be soon though (next few weeks) so I'll let you know when I'm doing it if you want a set too, once I have a confirmation on price.
