The club is in healthy financial shape, so we have a really good base to grow and make the club a close knit community. But no club functions without its members. Please come along and help take this club to a level where we can all enjoy it!

Shamus, email mr2nswsec@gmail.com for the details. One of the members has kindly opened his house for it.

Great news! Club is safe and in very good hands. I'll let the new board introduce themselves when they are ready but its going to be a really good year for the club and its members. Some good events are in the works and we'll be able to enjoy our cars for what they were built to do.

Dudeman Even though there has been a pretty big split in the NSW MR2 group (spilt like 80:20) between this forum and the 'other' forum this is something where petty little continuations of nonsense should be left out. Tom, Jaemus, Mrs Jaemus, Dylan and David have really put some good time and effort into the club over the last twelve months. The meeting is tomorrow night. Really mate, is there any need to make a comment like that which only inflames the situation. There was elements on both sides which caused the breakup in communication between previous members. Yes, the current administration has put a lot of work into the club over the past 12 months and my congratulations go to them for keeping it going but the previous administration kept the club going for some 15 years and finished up with around 60 members in NSW. I joined the club in 1999 and was a member for approximately 11 years until I sold my car and I enjoyed many great times over that period even meeting some of the forum members who were involved at that time. I still take an interest in the club and follow the forum and I hope the club continues to thrive and gain membership for many years to come.

Really, mate, can't see a single thing in that which would 'inflame' anything. Not a thing. That asks that any drama that anyone has with forums be left out and the club be the primary interest, which is shared. I really have no idea what you are referring to. I do know there are some previous members for reasons that i'm not privy to do not wish to rejoin. Yes, the previous group who ran the club did a great job, this was a call out to save the legacy of the club that was created by that group of people. There would be no club at all without the previous groups hard work and establishment of the club. There also would be no club without the group which put their time and effort in over the last 12 months. Not trying or wanting to take any credibility away from either group of people. So your comments have come totally out of left field for me, and it 'inflamed' any interest or debate over the club - well, i'd rather see some debate happening and the club be open for anyone new or anyone wanting to rejoin and have some nice drives and club time - rather than see the club's 'flame' suffocate and be extinguished.

With respect Dudeman you know exactly what I am referring to especially considering you previously referred to the split in the MR2 Club and the 'other' group and petty nonsense etc. These sort of comments do not help any future reconciliation or amalgamation of the 2 groups we now have. The 'other' group you refer to are doing very nicely in their own right at the moment and I hope some day there can be some sort of meeting to join the 2 groups together to make a stronger club for all.

This is the equivalent of Chinese whispers through an Indonesian interpreter on an Indian call centre. This is more like life of brian, The Peoples Front of Judea vs The Peoples Judean Front. (and I third group - if I understand your latest post) You could not be more wrong wiz, have a look at my post - I referred to the 'NSW MR2 group'. Group as in all MR2 owners who show a bit more interest than just the original purchase. I'll pm you with exactly what I referred to. Pm's are great, they can prevent public misunderstandings and poorly thought out public finger pointings. edit spelling

Wiz - the split dudeman is refering is not one and the same with what you've understood him to refer to. He is merely mentioning that of the existing club members, only about 20% use www.mr2australia.com whilst the other 80% use the alternate forum on the internet. We do not need a heated discussion about something that is done and dusted and well in past. We are looking to take this club forwards, not be stuck in the past. We have a new president this year and with a different focus, and we will continue to look after the interests of the members of the club. There should be NO discussion about forums/other groups or whatever we we're talking about the club. The club is for its members.

Yes, I now know that and I have spoken to Dudeman through private messages and clarified it. It was the wording of his original message that threw me and if I have offended anyone I apologise. I knew nothing of a forum split. However there was no need to try and belittle me with sarcastic comments regarding Indian call centres and Life of Brian etc. as I feel I do not deserve that. I have been a long time supporter of this forum and MR2's in general and have always wished the new club well.
