As it's not my car, I didn't have to pay for the parts. We started off with a couple of mandrels, flanges, straight and two tips, then spent an afternoon under the car making it. It's nothing fancy or spectacular, my welding of 1.6mm steel with a stick welder is a bit lack luster, but it works. Once finished, we were left with the great satisfaction of having made it ourselves

IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ No, the Run is not cancelled and it is on rain or shine (but not hail or snow, although our esteemed Past President should be used to snow in Tasmania)!! However, the Run Manager and I have just done another recon over the route yesterday (I can now do this drive blindfolded) and we forgot one very important thing in the initial planning - we are going into NSW. What's different - well, two words - daylight saving. The Run Manager has put her hand up and said she will take the heat, but if we are to make the Run work we have to leave 30 minutes earlier, so please be at the RV as nominated for this Run at 8.30am for a 9.00am departure, not a 9.30 departure as previously notified. If you find this is too early after the party the night before - MR2 owners are reknowned for their party skills - then we'll certainly understand. You will miss a great Run though.  One good thing to come out of this is that we get back home an hour earlier. A full Run Sheet is being prepared after the second recon and you will be PM'd a copy as per the February Run later this week. Look forward to seeing you there, and if you have heard from anyone who might be interested in coming with us then ask them along.

I have to drop out of this one. Combination of Uni work due this weekend, the 800km round trip for the cruise and finishing my AW11 Saturday, is destroying my available time and financials. Should be on the next cruise though, with an AW11!

Knightrous and Bustin,
sorry you can't make it on Sunday for the Run. The weather is looking much better than the past week or so and the roads down through the border hills are looking great. They have been doing a lot of upgrading work on the Numinbah Vallet route over recent months and it makes the twisties a lot smoother.
I've sent you a Run Sheet for Sunday just so you can see what we are doing in case things change.
Hope to see you in April on the Saturday going WEST to Crows Nest.
