I also decided to recondition the clutch master and slave cyliners while I was at it.  The slave cylinder was a mess! It looks like it hasn't been touched for 24 years.  I suspect the fluid was never changed.  It's all cleaned up now and the clutch pedal has never felt so good.

 
How on earth did you get access to it to remove it?

It wasn't easy!
 
The bleeder line has to come off to get access to the mounting bolts.  I used the flange nut spanner and freeze and release to start the flange nuts and an open ended spanner to finish them off. I used a 1/4 inch drive socket set and a combination spanner to get the two mounting bolts out.  At one stage I was using an open ended spanner and turning the bolt 1/12 of a turn and then turning the spanner around.  I had to wiggle the cylinder to get it out of the slot.
It went back much easier as I cleaned up all the threads and lubed them all.  I also lubed the cylinder to make it go back in the slot easier too. I was cursing it at the time but the effort was well worth it.
