Mark, great to here from you and learn that you and Di are OK. Sorry you can't make it on this run and we'll make sure that photos are taken as requested Hopefully you might be able to make the March outing which we are naming "Mooball Calls", but the final destination is really the huge weekend markets at Bangalow where we are trying to organise some group parking so that lunch can be bought, but also so that our long-suffering partners can have a look through the stalls and not be bored to pieces listening to us all go on about the cars. I have also posted the whole of the 2012 Run Calendar on the Forum now so check this out and see what else might fit in. Be good to see you and Di again soon. Best regards, Walter .

What's the contingency if we experience heavy rain? I know a few of the creeks out the back of Melany and Kennilworth come up pretty quick if they get a few inches of rain in a short time period. Weatherzone is for casting a 90% chance of rain on Saturday, between 10-20mm :(

Thanks guys for raising this. We have alternative routes planned in case of wet weather and the preferred roads being cut. Also, when the route was planned we specifically tried to keep the run away from anything dodgy where culverts and creeks were concerned. Doing the route planning took nearly 12 hours driving because we went up a lot of side roads using Google Earth mapping and GPS to make sure there was no dirt. One short section does get down to one lane of asphalt but it shouldn't be a problem. I don't mind my car getting wet but I certainly won't play submarines with it, mainly because I don't have a snorkel. If it does rain it might at least keep some of the bikes off the road because part of the route seemed very popular with them, and they weren't too worried about what side of the corners they were on. If it does look really really bad then we can cancel and sit at HJ's all day but the decision to cancel should be taken the night before, so it pays to monitor the Forum. When we get the Club structure properly set up, and its early days yet, we should have everyone's mobile number so we can send out an SMS to notify of cancellation. As I said though it's early days yet and there's a lot to do to make this work better for everyone's benefit. I'm interested in whether or not you received the PM with the run sheet and any feedback you might have. We are trying different things to see which is the best way to communicate. Walter

PM received - thanks. With the roads, the front of my car is quite low. Is there any shotty sections to look out for or are unusually uneven etc? I can take off my front lip if so.

I'll just try to respond to the last few posts in one go - it saves electrons that way. 1. Road condition - no problems with the road conditions. There are some bumpy stretches but nothing I won't take my car over, and everyone knows how I feel about my car. The Run Manager and I are doing a very thorough recon on these routes which I hope we will be able to upload to the new website (see my previous commments about a lot to do) so that they remain useable for the future. 2. Scope and Storm Warden - great to hear from you and ever better to see you on the day. Storm Warden, are you up for the buffet? We're just doing the final numbers - $15.00 BBQ, all you can eat. I'l PM both of you with the detailed run sheet so in case something happens you can catch up as you will know where we will be. 3. Thanks Scope for the comments about the run. It worked out really well, some of the sections won't be fast but they are interesting. That hill out of Kenilworth is amazing. 4. We'll have a list on Saturday for people to put their names and preferred contact details. There is NO intention to publish this list anywhere and its just for mailings, communication in emergencies, etc. 5. If you don't here otherwise by 10.00pm tomorrow night on this Forum then rain or shine the Run is on! 6. Don't forget to check out the 2012 Run Calendar on the Forum and mark your calendars. The next run south will be great and hopefully the co-drivers will look forward to the destination. Check the bottom of the run sheet too. It has the mobile numbers on it for the Run Manager and myself so if you have problems on Saturday just let us know. Walter

Thanks for letting us know. Peter, our host for lunch, has been informed of the numbers today and he is looking forward to us being there. We also asked about the weather and the rain out that way and he said that there shouldn't be any problems. It will probably be wet for a while but the lunch venue is under cover so it's all looking good. Walter
