cheers heaps for that mate, I will check the markings on mine as soon as I get home. Do you know the brake pad numbers that you use on your brakes, are they the 308's or 1227's?
Neither of those, since I bought genuine Toyota pads. (Check my earlier post) Toyota Part numbers: Front pads 04465-17060 Rear pads 04466-17030

Reddtarga What size rotor were you running previously on the front? I doesn't make any sense to have larger calipers/rotors on the front than the rear, the braking would be way out of balance. It is also possible that you may have the correct small front calipers anyway. IMO genuine Toyota pads FTW for best results with your new RDA rotors, forget aftermarket. Why doesn't it? I'll have you know I have '93+ brakes on the front and early brakes rear. Nothing is out of balance, and I'm hard on the brakes. most of the weight is transferred to the front under hard braking, even in a mid engine'd car. Otherwise Toyota would have put bigger brakes on the rear factory but that's not the case, front always has bigger brakes (more pistons) regardless of the year. Toyota pads are nothing special either...Ferodo have been making friction material well before they even existed.

MASTERPO888 just called repco, ferodo are 60 clams, and the hd bendix are also on special for 60clams (normally about 107clams for the 1352's). If i can score the bendix heavy duty for 60 would you recommend over the ferodo? ~60 bucks sounds right. The 'Target' are basically the old Excel pad and are marketed as heavy duty. I wouldn't recommend bendix because I wouldn't use them myself. I haven't heard good things about them at all. But feel free to try them at that price then let me know :)

I hope so, you wouldn't believe it, I blew a front tyre as I was arriving at mates place to do rotors and pads. Car is still in shed, has shinny new rotors but I can't get out of work early enough to get to a tyre mob. Looks like weekend if I can't get one of my mates to grab for me....sorta sucks but they look awesome. Another item off the road worthy wish list. Windscreen, seatbelt and few lights plus that goddamn demister motor ..... PLUS two new front tyres....gonna be a big week!

yeah RWC soon, hopefully reg'd in next 2 weeks. My last car was 96TT Supra, so I am well versed in money pits, and was prepared because I want to turn the midship into a rocketship!! haha But honestly I've been pretty 'lucky' with parts so far (I think) : - exhaust system : budget 1200 ; actual 250 clams (twin berk style with high flo cat and dumpy)
- blower motor (including housing) : budget 500 ; actual 180 clams
- washer bottle : 20 bucks
- rotors and pads (all 4) ;budget 500 ; actual 205 clams
- WINDSCREEN : 600 from obriens ; found a bloke in melb sells sw20 new windscreens 200 clams
- tyres - 500 clams (fronts only) including allignment ; actual 70 clams each, brand new 215/45 r17.....sweeeeeet car back on road tonight....for testing as my permit allows
So not all bad, just got to find a borg warner turbo for 200 clams and I'm laughing.... will take some pics but car is abit of a frankenstein

Had to sell because it was a moneypit. This (mr2) is the first car I have tried to work on myself. The Rz was an import from japan, 35k spent about 10k on it straight away, drifting + tree = another 13 k in repairs. The day I got it back from panelbeater clutch blew, day i was meant to pick up from clutch guy, compressor wheels found in cat (they were obviously testing clutch abit to hard, Evolution R in Vic, they were pricks and didn't fix), so 7k later two new garret turbs, more POWER but then 1 month later 247 fines. Haha had to sell or I would be dead or broke i thinks. I 'WISH' I found a BW turbo for 200 haha, meant because I found other parts so cheap , I know it will cost alot but on youtube an mr2 (sw20) does an 8 sec quarter with one.....so I want one!!!!!Exhaust definitely the best thing I've done to mine. I have taken pics just need to work out how to post em and will put some up this weekend. Hopefully somebody on the forum recognises rims or exhaust brand or maybe knows the history of this car.

damn....bad luck ey. ceramic turbos and abuse don't normally end well. At least now you can do an epic build on the 2 and turn it into an Evo murderer :) Just upload the pics to photobucket or something, then link them from here.
