Dom - unfortunately thgere are a lot of myths floating around re: compliance, legality etc - all products of ill-informed opinion - my car passed the pits inspection with the quad lights in, by qualified inspectors, nad was given a full clean bill of helath. I hid nothing and in fact showed everything, including items I was unsure about. There seems to be no issues - haven't been pulled or harrassed by them. I also read the VSB 14 docs and ADR's prior to installing them and found no reason they could not be installed. The kit comes from Rogue with EU compliance certification mentioned in the documentation, and was confirmed following the pits PASS.
I have hear of problems with the American-sourced versions as State-side MR2 owners drive on the opposite side of the road, meaning the dip and angle of the headlamps would glare drivers here if installed. Assuming you can adjust these angles (which I'm sure you can by the adjustable retaining screw/bolts) then the problem would be easily managed.
BUT - this is valid for my experience only. It would be fair to sya it's representative of WA as I went offical and was given rego on that basis. I must admit, I hear a lot of tales of non-comliance on here and think it particularly poor form that some guys seem to get loads of hassle - IF you are pulled for something, research it, and then challenge if you think it's wrong, in the form of a letter, or other formal correspondence ot the people who "defected" you, and ask them for more infomration on how tto reoclve the "defect".
It is their job to make roads safe, so ask the questions and resolve th edefects - obviously if you've attached a Trebouche to the back of your mpotor, you'll probabley get a pull, knowing the size and scale limtations for boinnbet scoops and rear spoilers!!
BUT - the ADR's are clear, and the VSB's advise you on what you can and can't do. And if there is a reasonable mod which CAN'T be done, there will (usually) be a way to "engineer" the mod - that is get a report htat state sit meets the ADRs by a certified motor engineer - list available from the Dept of Transport website.
I for one would recommend Rogue, the quad lamps are great, and the full beam is a particular improvement - great for driving at night on isolated roads - excellent vision, better lateral illumination than stock. Their after-sales service and support was great too, in the face of claims from one installer tha there were parts missing. Fully recommended mate
Good luck!
