It is very true, Some things do end up costing $$, and its usually the smaller ones.

Just to show you how weak the mirror is now, I used the high pressure hose to clean it, and the side mirror folded in so its flush against the door of the car haha.

I'm getting the mod bug after going in a mates Skyline GT-T R34, turbo and manual (oh and wagon) are definitely on the boat. I find its going to be easier to keep the car and convert than have to sell mine and buy a manual one. Finding another Active Sports model too may be a bit difficult.

For the next year or so I hope to accomplish replacing the exhaust, fitting a boost controller, fixing the exhaust leak, repainting the wheels and some general neatening up of the bodykit/engine bay.

You should be able to launch harder (manual) than your Skyline friend since you have 4WD. When I was looking for one, the manual ones were way overpriced and I didn't want an auto either ;) I did read in magazine that "the stock exhaust does a good job of choking power after 5000 rpm". Should make a big difference.
Mind you I was offered a white manual one with a few scratches (easily fixed) on it for $10K which was a bloody good deal at the time 4 years ago.

Oh too true, AWD for the win. I have never had a stock turbo car and have upgraded the exhaust before so it will be an interesting learning excercise.

Thats very cheap for a White Manual model for 10k, they go for well over that now. Maybe they have appreciated in price?

I ended up buying a HSK EVC IV Electronic Boost Controller. They look fantastic and it negates the need for a separate boost gauge as this one comes with a separate screen.
Can't wait to install it. There are many more mods to come :)
