updates?

I will be in touch with them this Tuesday.

I received this email a few days ago.
"
Hi Martin

Sorry I have not been in contact today it's just been one of those days. I thought a quick email before I leave to let you know you have not been forgotten.
I need to confirm to you that there would be extra costs involved for the reassembly using a new hardened pinion. As I am sure you can appreciate there has been quite a lot of extra work involved with this than was originally quoted. Most of this 'development' work we would not forward costs onto you as we are aware that you have been patient as these have taken a while to get through the workshop. For this assembly work however there would be a charge of £25 per unit. We hope you think this is fair.
As you know we have not carried this out yet. Please can you bare with us and we should be able to get this assembly off to your man 'Daniel Graham' within the next few days.
I would be grateful if you could email your acceptance of this extra charge and I will speak with production to get this done.

I hope this explains everything and that the parts we have sent to the UK addresses have been received.

I am out of the office until Tuesday now - I will forward this to Terry so he can see what info I have confirmed to you."

Hey, c'mon dasic, this guy isn't a Nubian Prince asking for money to release funds or a fantastic deal.

I think a workshop asking for more money after delaying your job for over a year and a half is totally reasonable.

Nobody will be paying extra. I will cover it, it's the least I can do for starting this group buy.

A link from this thread http://www.imoc.co.uk/for...t=151961&start=200
on the UK forum from a member that has received his pinion.

I expected that brand new non heat treated parts would be clean and shiny. Guess i'm wrong.

I'd assume it would have been heat treated.  I'd like to see one with the grease cleaned off of it. Few bits look a bit on the rough side to me.    The helix part itself doesn't look too bad, the rest of it seems a little half arsed.  The way the helix cuts into the bottom (and potentially top) is a bit rough.

That part in the photo is the wrong part, there was a mix up and he was sent a development part. I have spoken to Wingers and explained everything to him about it. He is returning the part and will be sent the correct part.

I should be receiving some pinion parts early next week for some of you guys.

I know it's not your fault Marty but wth is with these guys... delaying products by a year and then asking for more money? and sending the wrong part to a customer? honestly this is beyond a joke

Yes it's amazing that they have kept going for over one hundred years.

I do try to be optimistic though.
