WHITCHY any chance I can change my order to pinion A then? I will just get the different size bearing. No date for these guys seems to mean 6 months. Thanks for the update! You would need a pinion from a revision 1 or 2 MR2 to do what you want. So if you was to go down that road you may as well have the whole power steering rack from an rev 1 or 2. It's a case of taking pinion B apart without damaging it that is giving them some problems. Although the manufacturer is extremely slow dealing with this order, I am sure they are capable of solving the problem with pinion B. I will be talking to the manufacturer again this coming Monday so don't panic yet.

Pinion A parts have already been machined and sent to be hardened so I am not sure if I can change your order. I will discuss it with the manufacturer next week.

"Hi Martin Sorry it's after 4pm - time has just slipped away today. Regarding your order - the gears are waiting for the next opportunity to go up on our spark eroder which I am told is imminent and then off to heat treatment after which is grinding etc.. Taking all this into account the parts (13/14 off) will be despatched to you w/c: 26th. I hope this is acceptable."

Sorry for not replying sooner, I have not been on the pc for a few days. I have not been in touch with the manufacturer so far in the new year. I will phone them this coming Monday to see what is happening with the pinions. Below is a copy of what I posted on imoc.co.uk about a week ago. I was speaking to them just before Christmas day. They should have ten type A pinions ready. I only found out that day that they claim to not have received the softsample that I returned to them. Luckily I sent it by registered post which I checked out and they did get the softsample. The first ten people that paid a deposit for type A will get the parts first. Sorry to say some of you paid early only to find out that you need type B. I will keep on hounding the manufacturer in the New Year. I don't like to give these type of updates as we have found out in the past that the manufacturer can tell a few pork pies. Here's hoping that early 2013 all of us have the upgraded power steering pinion.

I was talking to a engineer yesterday. I believe they are doing their best to get the pinion parts resolved. They had problems with a machine called a 'sparker' but have got another one now. The first ten parts (A) should be shipping really soon. So it will be whoever paid a deposit first for type A pinion will receive the first batch. I am wondering if one of you could act a central server for me to ship the pinions to. Then they could be sent within Australia. It's looking as if it could be quite expensive to send the pinion parts individually. Just a thought.

Marty, who from aus is included in the top 10 part A's. I can distribute them if necessary. Myself and 5SGTE live close by, I am visiting WIDEMR (melb) in march (and he wont require the pinion before then, I am certain of that). If there were any other Victorians that wanted there pinions I could get them as far as melbourne for free come March, or send them out before hand. I think we are going to have to place some deadlines on the manufacturer. Its gotten near ridiculous so far. If this 'sent soon' thing falls over I think we may seriously have to consider getting a refund from this manufacturer, finding another manufacturer and/or giving up. Anyway, let me know.

I agree with you about how long this is taking. I would not have started the group buy if I knew it was going to take this long. People in Australia that will be on the top ten list for pinion type A are: Ashtwo ------------------ Tasmania Lmt ----------------------- Victoria Dwyer125 --------------- Victoria 5SGTE -------------------- Queensland -Totenkopf --------------- Queensland So if the other three guys on the list agree to have their part delivered to one place in Australia then it should save everybody money on international shipping.

I'm living in Melbourne now, if it does make it easier/cheaper I'm fine with one person receiving and then distributing by pickup or post
