Thread revival, has anyone fitted 10 inch wide rears with 285s? I currently have 9s with 255s and am thinking of seeing how far I can push it. (I also like fat tyres). I seem to remember there was quite a bit of space at the back still, but was wondering if anyone has gone that wide before and the offset required, currently I'm thinking +35 might be the best bet.

Yep, that would be awesome, thanks Dylan. I was thinking 275 range of tyres, but 285s have a much larger range of options that I can see from a brief look, which was why I was thinking that. Which brand of tyres would you be using for that?

I think its a hankook. I'll probably end up just running a 265 federal RSR however. The extra 10-20mm with that kinda tread won't make a differences on the street for me.

Lumix: Do you happen to have a side on view with those wheels on your car. Tossing up ditching the back 18s (double stagger) and keep in 17s all round.

federals are wider than most tyres in the same size, from what ive seen, dylan can you confirm that ?? so a smaller federal will almost be equal to the next size up

No probs Daz - can see why you like the white. Really looks nice against the red. Just gives some idea how wide this really is - compareitively speaking, these were flush with standard MR2 guards (with the 255 tyres) PS: A set of varrstoen/te37s wheels would look awesome on this!

I can report that: 18x10 +49 SSR SP1 = fail. fouls swaybars and the strut by a good 5mm.

I can report that Starcorp Tracer 17 x 8 +35 (front) fits over Wilwood big brake kit running their 324mm rotors and calipers with no problems. However, I can also report that Starcorp Tracer 17 x 9 +45 (rear) does not fit over Wilwood big brake kit running their 324mm rotor with late model stock calipers. I modifed this with an 8mm spacer but the wheel bolts were too short, and there were still issues with the outer edge of the caliper fouling on the wheel balancing weights. Thankfully, the Enkei RP01s - 17 x 9 +38 fit over the Wilwood rear big brake kit, as shown in pics above. Great rims. NB: Brake kit here - http://www.wolfkatz.com/products.php?cat=25

Enkeis are awesome for brake clearance. I can also report 17x8+30 SSR SP1 do not clear the Skyline 4 pot/LS400 rotor brake upgrade.
