Awesome man, I'm getting my major motor freshen up soon as well (2-3 weeks) and my mod list is pretty similar to yours (except engine): GTR/St combo, Exedy HD, NGK sparks and wires, poly mounts. If that LSD sounds as good as you say I might really consider it in the future.

I'll mention it to the engine re-builder.

I also ordered the cam yesterday. duration at 0.050 is 227 with 9.4mm lift.  (advertised 270-72)

I'm looking forward to higher revs and no smell of oil burning out of the exhaust.

Tracking it again will be a pleasure :)

Your manifold looks great.

You mentioned clear timing covers?
I have seen these advertised for turbo motors, but I was told that the Turbo covers are different to NA's.
Would they still fit??

the clear cover will fit if you have the aus NA motor with hyd tensioner. it's won't match up with the JDM bottom cover tho it's an area that you can't see at all...... ages ago i had pics of the differences.

That explains something I had wondered about when I first saw these clear covers advertised for turbos.
Different covers for different tensioners.
So these should fit my motor ok since I have an ADM 3sge with hydraulic tensioner?

Also, I'm prepared to get flamed for this, but I bought an ebay radiator. It has one year warranty, thats only a little bit of peace of mind. But it was dirt cheap at $245. (i made an offer). I'm confident it will work 100 times better than my shagged radiator.

I have discovered that early ADM NA models can have both types  of tensioner.
The pic shows a top timing cover that goes with the hyraulic tensioner 3SGE motor, along with a clear cover I got from Twos'rus sitting on top of the no 3 cover (top backing plate)
The red arrow indicates the lower LH bolt hole.

The top cover for the 3SGE motor with the spring type tensioner has that hole in the spot indicated by the yellow arrow. That one mounting hole in a different location appears to be the difference between the two covers.

With the motor in still the car you can move the cruise control aside and feel down underneath for the bolt hole to pick which type of tensioner you have.

Fitted the ebay radiator this afternoon. it's almost the same fit as the factory one. It sits on a bit more of an angle away from the ac condenser though. Im sure it wont really affect the cooling.
