The 3S flywheels have a different PCD to the 1MZ crank bolt pattern, as shown below: So you have to elongate the holes with a milling machine, like this. (Just less dodgy ;-) ) You can avoid this process if you buy a 1MZFE flywheel, there are a few aftermarket ones and you might even be able to source one through the wreckers. If you using an E153 gearbox, you can use a 3SGTE flywheel, pressure plate and friction plate as it all bolts up. If your using an S54 gearbox, you need to use a 3SGTE flywheel with a 3SGTE pressure plate, along with either an uprated 3SGE friction plate (stock will die quickly) or a custom 3SGTE friction plate with a 3SGE spline center in it. This mix and match is because the E153 and S54 have different sized input shaft. Good news is, I spoke to NPC in Brisbane about 12-18 mths ago for this exact custom clutch setup. They can do a nice Heavy Duty Sports Organic clutch that will handle 250+HP and 300+Nm with the modified center for ~$550. A capable auto electrician should be able to do the wiring conversion, talk to Vinny on here (username: Vinnny), he did his V6 conversion in his SW20 himself and drop the wiring side into an auto leccy and it was done pretty well from what I remember.

Thanks for all the information! I have a 3sgte flywheel at home so I guess ill keep that just in case! That NPC deal seems pretty solid. Ill be using the s54 gearbox because I already have a quaiffe lsd in that and I know its in great condition all around.

Sell the damn thing and buy something that's already got most of the work done and make the most of someone else's loss.

In all seriousness this is a piss easy conversion, mechanically anyway. Wiring in an aftermarket ECU and splicing into the body loom/fuse box is the hardest part. I ran into a bizarre problem however that I don't think anyone else has experienced. Either way I'm rebuilding from scratch and going with a Fidanza flywheel. I emailed twosrus and they're now stocking them. Mine's on the way.

thank god, at least run that 3sge engine in and get some dyno figures. hopefully it all goes good this time, if it does you may be happy and not need V6.

Yeah surok, id love to see my engine again one day too. The small amount of time I had it, it was much faster than the 3sge I have in there now. If I am happy with that engine I may not go V6. But I do really want to get a 1mzfe 97+

Ahh sounds like the V6 bug bit you lol. The sound is orgasmic. What jdmr288 suggested would probably be the road less painful then building it up again from scratch, but if you're attached to this car then you're probably gonna do it anyways lol I reckon stick with the monster 3SGE for now let your hip pocket nerve take a small break maybe you can go full on 2GR one day...

i got fked over by the engine rebuilders and now have a lawyer working to get my money back, its devastating to the say the least, there will be no highly strung 3sge as all the parts are ruined.

Salvage what you can, buy the remaining parts and build it yourself. Moral of the story, trust no c*** and do it yourself.
