kojab How much was your new intercooler pump? I am still using the ST205 water pump and it is very noisy. I should think about changing it.
$190. It won't be noisy if you soft mount the pump with something like these -

rikkir Well done! I never thought anything with MR2's could ever be finished, i thought you just took breaks between improvements lol.
LOL I did hesitate when using the word "finished". I wondered if I was jinxing myself then realised that my luck can't get any worse! BTW the engine runs beautifully now. It starts easily and doesn't cough and fart anymore and I haven't touched the tune or injectors (I was blaming the injectors at the last MR2TC). I'm now crossing my fingers that I will get more power out of it on the dyno and therefore quicker lap times! Yay

I'm not sure yet. I'm trailerless at the moment so that's a bit restrictive. I sold my old rusty thing and am waiting for a nice new custom galvanised jobbie to be finished. I'll put the MR2 back on the dyno to check that everything is OK then I'll find a practice day at Eastern Creek or Wakefield for a try out.

Hmmm I think I'm a long way from a 1.05.... If I ever have enough funds to finally get rid of the CT26 and buy a bigger turbo and better ECU, it should be achievable. I reckon I could do a 1.07 with my current setup.

I have now taken 50Kg out of the car! That should make a noticeable difference to my lap times. I have a dyno session booked for Tuesday to make sure everything is OK and to also see if I can run some additional boost seeing how I now have a better intercooler pump. I'm hoping that the improved intercooling will give me some more power. I'm also hoping that the inlet valves working properly will make the engine work better too. It now starts, idles and free revs perfectly. Those of you will remember the car at the last MR2TC coughing and farting a lot due to the ****ty Ferrea inlet valves. The only thing I have changed in the engine is the inlet valves. Everything else is the same as at MR2TC 2014 so the valves were definitely the cause of my issues then. FYI Ferrea are still refusing to admit that their product was faulty. F them!

I ran the car at Eastern Creek this afternoon without any issues at all. I'm stoked. I even had the chance to try some new lines etc without worrying about the car and finally got past the 1m50s barrier. I did 3 laps in the 49's with my best being a 1m 49.5s. There is still a fair bit more time in me. I just managed to get the car back into the garage before the big storm hit. I'm glad that I wasn't on the track when the hail was falling. I'll upload a video soon.
