Would you be able to fit R32 GTR/GTS-T Staggered Wheel combo on the car with the R32 GTS-T/Mazda RX8 Calipers fitted?

Whilst having pictures of an Racing Hart 16inch wheel over these brakes i suggest 17 inch rims, however if your in Melbourne we can test if they fit or not.

PM'd everyone else who emailed.

Count me in, depending on cost..spending too much on cars lately.
What's the front/rear balance like with this setup..need a proportioning valve, and larger bore M/C?

I'm running this set up with the later model BMC and bosoter, and the brakes are a little too biased towards the front. No real need for a proportioning valve unless you're fussy.

biased to the front ey?

The later model BMC and booster your using is it the 97 'thin' booster and 15/16 BMC? Also the later prop valve?

I have most of the parts and doing this kit, will have a bias adj in cabbin, but was going to be on rear line, which will only make it bias towards the front even more?

I have an idea- what about a front setup that's done the same way as you did the rears? i.e. only brackets + bigger discs using the existing (late model) calipers. As long as the increase in caliper radius is similar front and rear the brake bias shouldn't really change. This could be a pretty cost effective setup if it would work.

Just got back from my holiday sorry i haven't answered sooner.

Everyone who has asked for a pm or sent me one i will email as soon as i have posted this.

The ideal setup for the brake conversion is:- The later model brake booster and "either" a gen3 or 1 inch master cylinder.

In regards to brake bias and the use of an adjuster etc. Personally i feel the bias isn't right without a adjuster, i do not feel it is biased too much towards the front (not on other cars i have driven a full set on either) However, if you have the front brakes upgraded and the rears left stock (Eckers race car) the bias definately favours the front.

So the bias adjuster should be fitted if after fitment of your brake kit (mine or anything else you decide to fit) doesn't meet your requirements or the bias you and your car (weights a huge factor)

Also remember that having different types of brake pads front and rear etc can also make it feel different.

In regards to larger disc conversions with standard calipers these have been around for as long as this kit has, but is still using a caliper that is prone to flex (not a held caliper) which ultimately is not what your after if your chasing better braking. A bigger disc will be better than standard but i feel you may as well put a better caliper on your bigger discs.

After reading that people may be asking "why do you keep the rear calipers then?" purely due to the standard handbrake setup. If we had an internal drum type handbrake we would have many more upgrade kits on the market.

If anyone has anymore questions send me a pm

I agree that there's no real need to have a proportioning valve/bias adjuster unless you're looking at a spot on perfect bias each and everytime.

My comments earlier are only to do with my current set up, which as a much more aggressive pad up front and a street style pad at the rear. Like i said, its "a little biased" to the front, but we are only saying a very small amount of change.

Was not saying your wrong, it's great to have other opinions from other owners who have the setup. Good for people to hear the comments.

Another before and after from someone else who fitted some.

1. The disc is the RX8 "sport" 323MM disc

2. The kit is designed for the later model 22V calipers, not the earlier 16V calipers. This is cast into the outer body of the caliper for easy reference
