As far as i know there is a difference in them... and thats about all i know. Unfortunately i didnt do any of the work myself and didnt witness the box going on so im just going by what i was told and read. If you get an opportunity when you get a 2gr it'd be good to see your findings on it all. dutchyvandongen - So far most guys have gone to a 3.6 final drive rather than the mr2's 4.2. From the info ive been given on my box it also has a 3.6 final and im not sure but i believe the camry and mr2 gears can be interchanged. Would maybe be worth trying to find a v6 box.

The 3.6 final drive can definately be swapped from the E53 3VZ camry box to the E153 box.

Hi. l think that for the front engine mount that was used by road and track is good, but l,m going to try something different and l think easier to do . l,ll let u know how that works out. . As for the computer l,ve got a friend at petroject that might be able to disable all of that security stuff key transponder etc . If not , l know the guys at wolf and they have already fitted their ecu to another mr2 with the 2gr and are tuning it as we speak . should know more after the weekend. the exhaust headers that frankenstein make look like a good thing and price seems fine ,maybe we could get 2 pairs a bit cheaper?. hey all, this month i will be purchasing a 2gr fe, and all the bits needed to do a conversion into my sw20, and i was wondering what interest there was in my 3vzfe with wiring etc it will come with working motor in my car atm, a spare motor, complete wiring, you will have to connect fuel pump, power to ecu, and engine check light, (i did the conversion in a weekend, and i am no mechanic). a flywheel to suit the s54 (na gearbox) and of course the 4vz engine mount bracket, you just put your engine mount on it, and thats it, as i will be needing it for when i go through with my conversion
gathering interest atm,

Sounds good charlie, keep me posted, and the immobilizer deal would be interesting to sort out, it will make the wiring a tad bit easier

VVTuner is a possible solution for driving the cams on the 2GR. It's a stand alone unit that is currently only ready for the Mazda MX5's VVT system, but they are talking about expanding that to include the cam wheels of other vehicles (IE, if you send them the 2GR cam sensor patterns, they will probably add it). Could work out to be a cheap solution when coupled to a MS3.

did you sell this? I have been pondering the v6 swap very seriously. You know... sometimes people just put things in their sheds and dont touch them for a few years...
