gathering interest atm for complete 3vz conversion

hey all, this month i will be purchasing a 2gr fe, and all the bits needed to do a conversion into my sw20, and i was wondering what interest there was in my 3vzfe with wiring etc
it will come with
working motor in my car atm,
a spare motor,
complete wiring, you will have to connect fuel pump, power to ecu, and engine check light, (i did the conversion in a weekend, and i am no mechanic).
a flywheel to suit the s54 (na gearbox)
and of course the 4vz engine mount bracket, you just put your engine mount on it, and thats it, as i will be needing it for when i go through with my conversion

gathering interest atm,

I'm so interested. Unfortunately this whole poverty thing gets in the way. Should some money come my way I'd snap it up. Are you including the mount?

of course im selling everything needed to be put in a mr2 with a na gearbox,
as for price im just looking at what offers i can get

as for the 2gr fe conversion, ill be attempting to do it myself, shouldnt be to hard on the physical side of things
its just the wring that will be the "fun" part
engine mounts and little bits and pieces i think road and track are looking at doing a group by from a member names gouky over in the uk
wich is where ill be taking part in

as for ecu, i will be using the standard one along with the e153 gearbox, i have read that only 93 plus boxes fit, wich im pretty sure i have lol

Just like to point out that the physical side isn't that simple, wiring is a massive task there is 2 books the size of a full repair manual that covers only wiring and im pretty sure Road and Track were only doing that semi group buy months ago but just ended up getting the one kit.

I reckon unless you know someone selling one cheap you will be looking at 5 grand for a basic long motor and another 2500 for the other parts needed if you can get them at all.

charliemr2 - i've been looking into ecu's as well myself since mine is done now and so far the only options are the motec m880 (6-8 grand for the ecu alone) or use another stand alone as a piggy back while running the standard ecu to control the drive by wire and or cams.

In any case good luck its definitely worth it completed but by no means an easy or cheap task.

By physical I meant getting it in the car lol
    Wiring I consider technical haha
And I'll give the stock wiring a go
If I fail then stand alone is the go
I have been quoted 1500 for a haltek stand alone fitted and tuned
Money isn't the problem ATM works going along beautifully
Any way this threads for the sale of my current set up
I think maybe when I start this conversion I will make a new thread for spoke. Topic and maybe a walk through.. Well see lol

Should be able to get a 2gr long motor for far less then 5 g's. I can probably get a long motor for a couple of grand. Thinking about getting one to toy with on the side. Should be a couple of other computers apart from the motec that can run it. Is you are running drive by wire it may mean you need to convert to a manual throttle for a couple of those options.

Yeah i forgot to mention the manual throttle option, and im hoping your right in the the other computers. Ive researched the hell out of it and been to several respected tuners and so far i havnt found an option short of $2500 for the unit which was still using the standard ecu to control some things.

v6mr2 - I know what you meant by physical and i said it isn't that simple, look at Road and Tracks write up on their website. There are several issues that the mount kit have along with other clearances and custom fabbing parts to make it all work. Not saying it cant be done as a home job just that there is a lot to it and its not "simple".

Anyway good luck with the sale of the 3vz :)

Well it did take me a weekend to do the 3vz conversion, so I'd give it 2 weeks to a month max for the 2gr :)

... I'd highly doubt this swap can be done at home within a month. Yours was already swapped you just put the engine into a different shell. There are days of custom fab work to get this to work properly.

I take it you've already read the Road and Track article on their website http://www.roadandtrack.net.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=139:2gr-v6-conversion-for-sw20-mr2&catid=45:general&Itemid=43

The car that article talks about is mine and it took just under 6 months. Having said that it could have been done a lot quicker (i wasnt in a hurry) but no less than 2 months (by a professional shop).

What are your plans for gearbox/gearset? id definitely suggest changing the final drive. Mine runs out of first and second in a heart beat and its significantly longer than the standard mr2t e153.

I was planning on leaving the e153 I have now and see how it goes, coming from the 3vz I don't think there would be to much diff? Maybe you where spooky by the four cylinders extra 1000-1500 rpm extra? Haha
    How is the drive anyway?
And to fabbing from what I know it's the custom moun tomclear the water pump pulley and the clutch slave rubs, the way I see it when I have it all I'll see what the go is and wing it, other then gym and work, I do pretty much nothing else so I go time on my hands and money if need be,
When there's will there's a way right? And just like the many 1mz and 3vz swaps in the beginning where seem as godly tasks, now it's common practice, and I'm sure in due time so will the 2gr
