In Wiz's case, couldn't say unless I was there.
But like you say, he may have just come from the fatal accident,
it's not very pleasant seeing people ripped apart like a dog thats been hit on the road,
not easy when you get there and they are dying and keep asking you if they are going to be ok
but you know they won't make it.
Not an excuse for being rude but possibly a reason.
Maybe he was just an a-hole.

This cop hadn't just come from the fatal accident because it happened after I left him and just minutes before I arrived at the scene and he would not have been aware of it at that time.

Also, if he knew he certainly would have mentioned it to me in our discussion sometime earlier to back up his comments to me about 'speeding'.
Your last comment above is closer to the truth.

I rang the local police station 2 days later and lodged a complaint and received an apology from the person in charge but I have my doubts that the officer in question would have been disciplined.

It's ridiculous that someone should have to waste a day of their life in court if they are innocent, just because some f**kwit cop with too much pride or a massive ego. Not all cops are like that, but as long as there are corrupt cops around (inevitably forever) I will always struggle to respect cops. Especially when I OFTEN see cops speeding for absolutely no reason except fun (like the rest of us), particularly undercover cops who think no one can pick them out, but I can. Sometimes I consider reporting cops who speed, but I bet it would go unnoticed.

I'm currently in the process of writing a formal complaint to the Police Complaints Authority about being given a major defect notice for two minor things. Everyone should read the Road Traffic Act before accepting fate/bullpoo poo from police. Most police who defect cars know nothing about cars.

About 20min ago i get pulled over driving my sisters 07 Lancer home (3min from my house)

I turn onto the Hume Highway and a Cop Car turns in behind me and starts tailgating me, 10 seconds later he starts flashing his lights, so I turn into the next street and pull over.

Cop: Hi, I'm constable ... from .. Police Station, letting you know that this conversation is being recorded
Me: Hi, how can i help you?
Cop: Was there any reason why you were driving so fast down ... St?
Me: Was i?
Cop: You were atleast going 80 or 90km
Me: Are you sure? (shocked look on my face)
Cop: Yes, wheres your licence?
Me: Here you go.
Cop: *hands my licence to his partner who is susing out my car*
Cop: Is this your car?
Me: No, its my sisters.
Cop: Where is she?
Me: At home, which is where im heading
Cop Partner: You know you were flying down the street.. whats the speed zone?
Me: 60
Cop Partner: You know i can give you a ticket and take you licence off you right now
Me: huh?
Cop Partner: I'm going to let you off with a warning
Me: Okay.

The Officers get back in their car, do a u-turn (on a double lined road) at the same time spinning the tyres???

Just goes to show that some cops are nice, yet just try and act intimidating just for the sake of it.
