@dudeman what mods are you running on your mr2 and Is it na?

its na. I have made the huge mod of putting carbon fibre headlight covers on. Thats all.

No, it doesn't stay on all the time, it just never comes on

@dudeman no wonder you're getting such good efficiency.
What with those lightweight headlights and all! :-P

Yeah I'm not that worried about spending for performance was just trying to gauge if it is running as it should. Am quite happy to pay that bit extra for a hell of a lot more fun than taking the hmas falcon!

I got about the same, not unusual for an NA and I don't have carbon fibre h/lamp covers either lol.

With my car when the tank is nearly empty, the fuel light comes on first when I'm going up hill. Then if I go downhill the light goes out. (Gauge float at the rear of the tank?)

Some people reckon there's another 100k left after the light comes on but I don't know if that's right or not.

Not a good idea to let it get down to reserve tank...
Maybe being a little paranoid but all the crap at the bottom of the tank (sometimes even water from condensation) can clog your injectors and other assorted attrocities = not much fun!
I always top mine up before the fuel light but that's just how i roll lol

I guess this is only really a problem if you don't drive alot though

This picking up crap at the bottom of the tank theory is just that ... crap! The pickup is right at the bottom of the tank, if there's crap there it'll pick it up no matter how much fuel is in the tank. There's also a gauze on the pickup and a fuel filter that'll catch any crap before it reaches your injectors.

True there is a fuel filter but that won't stop any water or fine particles getting through. Reserve inlet is always gonna be below the regular inlet that's how it gets the last bit... so runs a higher risk of this happening, however it is unlikely as I said unless been sitting around for a while. Had this with my cbr. Chances are will get a bit through anyway but I I'd rather just not have to worry about it at all and save the effort cleaning fuel filter or injectors etc

Cars don't have a reserve inlet, they always draw fuel right at the bottom. No fine particles will get through the main fuel filter unless the media is torn, in which case it's long overdue for replacement.

Edit: Microscopic particles can make it through the main filter, but are too small to cause any problems anyway.

92 turbo, de-cat 3" exhaust, CT20B - 15-17psi and city/highway I'll get anywhere from 280-380km's depending on how I drive. I USED to get 380 minimum but haven't hit 400 in about a year now. Rebuild and bigger turbo coming soon so I don't expect that to change any :)

@jdmr288 is that techno viking?! good stuff lol. yeah i'm not sure what boost i'm running atm but i think the boost controller is on around 50%. Yeah big turbo = big fun = big fuel bill, but if i was concerned about having a practical car i would probably be driving a ute instead!
what turbo you thinking of getting?
