the samsung galaxy is a very good competitor almost beating the iphone 4 in a lot of specs i have one and compared them to each other camera quality was better on samsung, both do 720p HD video, has similar processor speeds, to many things to mention here but few things the Iphone doesn't have is a removable/expandable storage (upto 32gb on samsung + 16gb onboard) replacable battery, radio, DLNA wirelesss streaming, tv out, flak audio support (audiophile quality sound ) no need for any software can plug and play into any computer through USB etc etc
cheers

That's the phone I've been considering the most. It would be nice if I could connect it to my MR2's head unit via USB and be able to play mp3 and avi files with no trouble at all. If it doesn't require software on the machine that it's being connected to, that is a big bonus.

The phone can be connected a few different ways using the usb port like mass storage, modem and also if wanted samsungs own version of itunes I will try and attempt to connect to the usb port in my car tomorrow and see what happens let u know Tell you what though the swype keyboard is awesome no more text talk needed it works pretty well And the bigger screen its good enough to send the iphone fanatics packing away, almost all the iphone 4 users I have come across have their screen brightness turned down due to it using more battery, but with the samsung I have the screen brightness turned up high and still have the battery last me heaps Cheers

Dudes where do you keep your iphone when driving. It seems to go flying on every corner. Any good holders out there?

Personally im a big fan of velcro... got some adhesive stuff from my local craft shop and use it for my iphone/ipods. I just stick the furry side to my phone/ipod and the spiky bit to where ever is convenient. Ive got about 3 of the old ipod nano's the (slim long ones) that take turns sitting next to the head unit and my phone sits around the corner (kinda hard to describe the spot). I frequently drive 3 different cars so each one has its spiky bits in certain places making it easy to just swap cars without removing docks etc.

I've got a windscreen-mount phone holder near the A-pillar, With an iPhone USB cable routed behind the dash, poking out at the air vent. It charges, plays music, can see it clearly and quite frankly works really well. A boost gauge is illegal on the A-pillar, but a phone mount or GPS is legal... go figure!

I've got the Galaxy and I find it's alot better to use than the iPhone4 and ANY HTC I've had the misfortune of using. My only gripe with it is no gingerbread yet and 40% of the time connecting to wireless it error's and freezes until it finally wakes up after a minute or so and I have to connect again. Camera and video are alot better than the iPhone4 also. Might get the Galaxy2 if it's any good.

Although I haven't used one, I reckon the Galaxy S II is probably the best phone in the world right now. If I didn't already get an HTC Desire HD back in November, I would get the Galaxy S II right now. Edit: or the HTC Sensation.
