iPhones and MR2s
I know a few of us here have iPhones.
I just got myself an iPhone 4. i've had a first gen iPhone for the past two years and my stereo has been charging it and playing music very well. now with the new iPhone, my stereo doesn't charge it (similar to the way that old docks dont charge new ipods/iphones)
How do you use yours in the car?
aux input to your stereo, direct ipod connection (USB or specialised connector?) windscreen mount? used as a GPS?
I recorded my movements for the day on GPSx - the iPhone just left the GPS running in the background. it was pretty damn cool actually [:P]

I've got an iPhone 3G. It's compatible with my headunit. The phone connects via Bluetooth and for music it has a standard iPod cable. I just lay the phone sideways in the ashtray. It stays there for everyday driving. For spirited driving it doesn't [:P] But I tend to use CDs more anyway.

How many megapixels is it? I assume they have a flash now? I need to upgrade my phone, I have an N95 8GB which has served me well, but I'm due for a new phone. I've never had an iPhone and I don't know if I want to, as there are lots of similar phones from Samsung etc.

think its 5mp and has a flash, also front facing camera. Can take 720p videos too. ALl in all, its still poo poo lol. Its nothing compared to any half decent compact camera, it has terrible shutter control and low lighting performance (but then again, most small cameras do). But then again, its about 50000x better than the 3gs one haha
the screen is by far the best thing about it imo, insane pixel density

Yeh, nothing compared to a true camera. I'm still in 3GS 10yrs ago camera land. But if it can take the below pics, I think it'll be quite good enough for most people on the move:

Loving the 4.
The camera is VERY sweet! The sideskirt photo in my thread & on facebook was taken at night... Its grainy as all poo poo but it was pitch black.. Even in the dark it performs acceptably. Havent had much of a chance to try out daylight stuff but the video is WICKED :D

Yeah, i bought a first generation iphone from the states just after they came out. its served me well for a few years now.
I'm loving the iphone 4. its much much quicker and looks very crisp even compared to dads 3GS. re: the camera, i have an SLR.... so nothing will ever come close. The best camera however, is the one you have with you. i believe that is a very important point. yes, some other phones have good lenses and cameras (8mp etc) but they still dont have very good management even compared to a decently priced point and shoot.
I've heard the Xperia is quite good.... but i'll stick with the iphones for a while.... i've got used to working with it for quite a while now.
