Can get immbolisers as cheap as $150 installed.

Something more advanced can go upwards of $300. Even a simple flashing light and a kill switch somewhere would cost $20 - if that, and would suffice as a great deterant (as mentioned)!

Sorry to hear about your car, hopefully it is recovered. Was it insured?

A very sad story. I also wish that they "get what's coming to them". On a lighter note, I had a cassette deck (remember them?) stolen from a previous car. Hoped they played their favourite tape first up, as it used to devour them!

A quick tip for people that do not have a alarm. Next time just unplug your main ignition relay and the efi relay and take it with you. They cant start your car with out major fault finding and tinkering most off the time they will just give up.

^ Yeah i do that too... I also turn the wheel full lock so if the car gets towed it'll turn into the curb/wall. Better to have a damaged car than a stolen one.

e: not the ecu trick :P

Under the fuse box in the engine bay, theres a round fuse about the size of a 10c piece and maybe 3cm tall. From memory its the 3rd one? It should say EFI on the fuse cover

How about a chain thru a wheel around a tree.

Trouble is they might take the car and leave the wheel lol.

Take the timing belt with you

If a thief can fit another before you return
he deserves your car

Will be doing this whenever I park in public car parks from now on. Thanks for the information.
