Yeah, but then I have to make the rest of the car look clean [xx(] With 5 million stone chips, it's a big job.

Don't worry about the rest, as long as the important bits look good...

Mmmmm..... LSD....

Now to pull it apart and follow thisguide to ensure it's tidy inside and has been assembled correctly.

Like any real man, first thing I did when I got my LSD home was pull it apart and see how it works

Little bit of grit in the housing, so I'll degrease and clean the whole thing, probably tidy up the machine marks and then reassemble.

And just to confirm I didn't buy the wrong LSD....

Just need to find my rubber mallet to hammer the shafts past the pop clips.

Looks very sexy, Aaron

Nah, these LSD's are really simple, hardest part is putting the bellville washer stack in correctly and then torquing the 9 case bolts up in an even manner. I can strip and rebuild it in around 20mins now, I've done it 3 times for the hell of it [:p]

Dragged my S54 gearbox home this weekend to begin stripping it down for an LSD install.
It's pissing down rain at the moment, and my piss fart 2m x 2m workspace is half wet..

As you can see, I've got fk all space to work, poo poo all bench space and only basic tools :P

Time to begin my Cert III in Backyard Mechanics in Gearbox Disassembly!

Had to stop when I got to the gearbox bearings as I don't have an snap ring pliers [V] Will buy some tomorrow [^]

For now, no. I'll probably consider it once the conversion is done and i make up my mine if the cruising rpm is as bad as people make it out to be.

Just a little concerning when the only tools visible are a medium size shifter, and some dodgy screwchiseldrivers. You're a brave man, Aaron!

With a JDM diff like mine it's 3300rpm+ with ADM I think it's around 3100? The Corrola diseasel 5th drops those by about 500rpm.
