I just re-read this whole thread from the start. I needed to refresh my memory on the progress of your TrackDub and SlushDub.

You sir are insane hahaha :D

Well I did skim over some parts, but it still took a while lol.

Do you reckon you could bring the slush dub to the Sydney MR2 meet tomorrow night?

Ok Aaron I might have missed something.  I knew you were working (of some sort) in Syd but are you moving there full time?  I though you only just bought a house up here...

PM me if you like.

It's unregistered and has a blown head gasket currently, so it won't make a meet of any form (unless it's in my driveway :P) for a while. Looking to debut it at MTC2015.

Moved down to Sydney at the end of September for my new job, currently waiting to clear the shed of cars and workshop equipment so we can rent the house out.

Yes, it is true on his own admission, Knightrous has gone insane and moved secretly to New South Wales.

His "Cane Toads" fan badge has been revoked, the ADub's have been impounded as prohibited exports (not allowed across the border) and a huge farewell party was held for him in Kingaroy, unfortunately after he had left.

The roads between Brisbane and Kingaroy will now never be the same, but we hear that many roadside residents are secretly joyful at being able to permanently remove their ear plugs now that the late night passing red flash sounding like a Boeing 747 engine on steroids will be no more.

As was said at the Kingaroy party, we'll never forget good old what's-his-name. Lost forever to the jungle of roads that is Sydney, the House of AW11 has left the building.

Nope, that does not happen. No matter how long you live down here. No way will i ever support the dirty blue jersey.

Out of the workshop and onto the drive way!
Some supercharged progress today.

Comparing technology from the 1950's and something from recent times.

Now I should have continued on the process of stripping the motor down to replace the head gasket, however I just couldn't help test fitting the twinscrew supercharger...

Doesn't fit particularly nice, so time to make some custom stuff :D
Started designing a new compact, equal length runner intake manifold to replace the dogs breakfast that is the factory SC manifold.

Clean engine bays are for people who don't drive their cars ;)

Continuing from the engine tear down.

Just like working on a Fallcon or Commondoor, minus the sea sickness.

Off came the head.

Pistons look okay.

Bores.... Less so.

Headgasket was blown across all three dividers.

Head seems okay, needs a decent investigation though.

This wasn't good to find...

Or this...

So time for some new parts and a quick rebuild!

Plan now will be.
- Drop the motor, inspect the bottom end - Replace bearings if necessary.
- Hone the block and fit new rings to pistons - Maybe upgrade to some 8.9 small port pistons while they are cheap.
- Replace the camshafts and damaged buckets - Maybe 'invest' in some Kelford cams.
- Check head for defects, replace with another if necessary.
- Replace timing belt, water pump, thermostat and transmission filter.
- Replace head gasket, head studs and exhaust studs.
- Build a new custom intake manifold to make better use of engine bay space for installation of the twinscrew.
- Reassemble engine and get it back in the car.
- Fit the DIYPNP MegaSquirt ECU.
- Do skids all the way to MTC2015

Thanks to Dneg/Foamy, the head is now off getting inspected for damage and a basic rebuild.
Next step is to finish removing the block from the engine bay so I can strip it down and hone the block.

Big post, many photos, such update, wow.

Bought another motor for the SlushDub since it came up cheap.

Came with LSD gearbox too.

Then made a trip back to QLD.

Found some spare wheels for the drift session.

Loaded up the TrackDub.

Then ran into a spot of bother.

Had some laser cut flanges for the 1MZ/3MZ arrive in the mail.

Holes need drilled out 0.5mm larger.

While I'm lacking a workshop, it means going back to the basics to some projects.

With the stock chamber cut off, it will allow a newly shaped chamber of similar or larger volume to be welded in, but in a better shape to allow the twinscrew supercharger to move 25mm close to the head.

These studs stop the twinscrew from getting much close to the head even with a modified mount, so they have to come out.

However some factory 4AGZE flywheel bolts fit as great replacements.

And when it cooled of, I decided to wash the dust off the TrackDub.

And some free advertisement for Steve.

Big thanks to Steve and Iain for helping me get the damaged trailer home on the weekend. What started out as a simple pick up and run job turned into a 13hr day. Couldn't had done it without you blokes around to help!
