I haven't actually taken it for a drive yet, it still has the straight pipe track exhaust I made for it last week and it's a tad loud

Will see how it goes tomorrow when I put the exhaust back on it.

Mounts work well, but it gets an evil vibration through the shifter cables at 8000rpm though, so might try to isolate them from the body a bit better. Although, they do make a great shift light substitute. Other wise the car is running great, so I'll spend a little time leading up to xmas and give it a bit of a tidy up in the engine bay, boot and maybe a cut n polish :)

Stop! Grinder Time :3

Has a nice little curve in the vent, but still clears my Cusco strut brace. Tomorrow I start cutting the front firewall to gain access to the radiator.

Any air you can redirect from going under the car and send it over decreases the pressure under the car and increases it over it.
This reduces lift/ creates downforce. (with the shape of most cars they inherently want to take off)

Nice start, I look forward to seeing the results.  I always wanted to do that to my AW11.

Go soothingly on the grease mud as there lurks a skid demon.

Slightly confused with this. are you going to relocate the rad to the bottom of that bend?
or are you simply making a tunnel to the current position so that the air can flow through the rad and out the top of the bonnet?

Yeah, trying to get the air flow from behind the radiator to flow up out the bonnet and over the windscreen.
I've heavily dislike the brick wall air flow barrier behind the radiator since I bought the car and I thought this would be a more effective modification over something like a front splitter or a rear diffuser, which are both annoying things for a daily driven car.
Funnily, I believe I might even still have space for a spare tire...

More sweet grinder love.

Well there is no turning back now!

Welded in a bit of bracing to add a bit of strength back to the area where the firewall was chopped.

Everything lines up fairly well, so next up will be making some ducting out of some aluminium sheet.

Well I'm off to my second workshop to kick some progress off on the V6.

Last night I dropped the V6 out of the SkidDub and removed the S54 gearbox and bolted the E153 LSD gearbox on instead (SW20 500+ HP capable gearbox)

then fitted one of the new ST185 drive shafts into the AW11 hubs to ensure they fit.

Another update on the bonnet vent. Started off this afternoon by transferring my dummy mdf panel to aluminium and adding some paper craft style tabs.

Then cut it out

Then folded it as needed

Due to being unorganised and all the shops were closed, I used what ever I had on hand... Tek Screws...

Nothing says bogan like sheet metal and tek screws...

Followed by some 5min rub down with some 400 grit before slopping on some glossy black paint for some rattle cans I had laying around the garage.

When I get some more time, I'll get some gear together, strip the paint off, get some body filler out and smooth out and fill all the gaps and tidy it up properly before buying proper paint for it and spray it with the spray gun (no more rattle cans!). Next time, I move onto finishing the vent ducting on the car and weld up the frame and seal it all back up with chassis sealer!

Yep, the TrackDub is the one I'm taking to the MR2 Challenge :)
Still a lot of work to be done before the big drive down to Wakefield, but looking forward to doing it.
This is pretty much a 20ft car, it looks ok if your standing 20ft back, any closer and you see just how rough it is :P

Anyway, threw down some more coats of rattle can glossy black and then fitted the bonnet back on the car.
