Well fellas... SUCCESS!!!
YEEaaaaaaaaaaaassss!!!!!!!!!
Got my pits inspection passed with no dramas; Maximum thanks and respect MUST go to Tristan, Adam and the guys at WTF who reassembled the car, serviced it and changed absolutely anything that had even minor wear - result was really satisfying. In fact, the guy who took it for a drive said "lovely car mate, drives great - really nice motor". There was one minor comment, that I should change the side repeaters (smoked) to stock, but the inspectors were both happy to pass it on that basis.
He also said "yeh, these things are a labour of love eh?" - there was a knowing nod, but the satisfaction of driving it on the roads has been immense so far..
Had to take an aftermarket dump pipe out (non-CAT "Aussie" stainless steel branded pipe) so that the stock catalytic converter could go back in. This will be put up for sale in the FOR SALE section, but just PM me if you're interested in it - the unit is good for a 20 - 30bhp increase in power over the stock unit and it's a swap-out/swap-in mod. It's at WTF workshop at the moment anyways - am sure if you get in touch with me and we agree a price, it would be no dramas to pick it up from there once cash has exchanged hands!
OK - pics will be coming soon, I'll post a couple of teasers when my dogsh*t vodafone internet connection finally uploads my pics to photobucket.. It's been 2 hours so far for 15 pics... I'll be sticking up a showroom thread in due course once the paint fixes are satisfactorily resolved and I've had the car detailed..
Many many thanks to everyone who's followed, encouraged and supported this build project -
Dylan Han (Gorilla Industries),
Bruce Sullivan (Fibrevision),
Adrian Tan (KYP)
Tristan Hewitt et al (WTF)
Garrett Katzenstein (Wolfkatz Racing)
Chris Kwong (DB8)
Jon Yee (Just_ace)
Pete (Dozer)
To name just a few - this list is not exhaustive, so thanks to all the forum regulars who provided input and pointed me in the right direction - there are more thanks coming, though there are a few significant items left to finish, so I'll complete the congrats and recommendations once these matters are settled
Now I'm back on the road, I'll be looking forward to meeting a couple of my fellow community members (WA at very least) in a cruise soon - I'll go for a bit of a run today after I get the rego paper work from Licensing Centre and see if I spot any MR2's about!
Mine's the wide one ;)
