Got the box out without dropping the motor. Turns out the pressure plate isn't up to the task and the clutch had been slipping the entire time it was on the dyno . Throwout bearing is fine but will get replaced anyhow. Better get an exedy HD unit. My custom splined 1mz diameter clutch disc is down to the rivets... Going to have to have the flywheel machined.

I love my MR2

The MR2 is like a hot chick that sometimes doesn't fully recipocate the amount of effort we put in but sometimes she will give us a really really good time or more money gets poured in lol

So it took me just under 20 hours to change the clutch

In the first test run the two forward captive nuts on the rear torque mount broke away and snapped the bolts.

Laawwwl.. didn't like running cold with no back pressure.

Now the only problem I'm left with is an annoying whine that I'm starting to suspect is the bearings in the A/C compressor. Disappears under load but not under engine speed. Strange

Hey J,
Let me know how that clutch goes when you get back on the road.
What belt did you use for Alt?
Are you using the MAF or your MAP with your ECU?

That whine is actually coming from my clutch Sounds like the release bearing is still in contact with the pressure plate when it's released.

I used the standard 1mz belt as I've still got an AC compressor running off it.
Using the built in MAP sensor of the Adaptronic
