Turns out the pressure plate I'd chosen wasn't up to the task. Clutch had been slipping on the dyno and I had to replace the disc, pressure plate and have the flywheel re-machined.

The final power figure turned out to be lower than I was initially quoted, 133rwkw.

So I'm back in Adelaide. Car's at Classic Performance getting a AFRs mapped. It's taken them over two weeks now but they had their dyno room floodout last week

. The car's fine and is currently putting out 141rwkw without the variable intake runners hooked up. Potentially looking at 150rwkw once they're finished with it.

Well the engine swap is underway. Picked up an 00 Avalon 1MZFE. Collecting all the camry bits I need for this at the moment. Buying an Adaptronic e420d next week to run it (and get around the immobiliser). Contemplating whether or not to go with a custom 236mm organic clutch to suit my S54 or just buy a 225mm Exedy HD unit under a turbo pressure plate. Looking for a turbo exhaust for this also.

Car's been unregistered since I hit that gutter seven months ago. Feeling the pinch financially it didn't make sense to pay rego on two cars. But that's all changing! Whilst it's been off the road I've put in BC BR coilovers, a Luisi Corsa wheel and Megan Racing rod ends. Ended up getting Hankook R-S2 tyres for the front in 215/40/17 for a damned good price. Keen to see how they go, they should be pretty sticky with a treadwear of 180. Also picked up some near new Advan A046 in 235/45 for the rear. Now it's over tyred for sure! Now waiting on my next monthly funds injection to get it off to a shop to sort out the alignment problems caused by hitting that gutter. This is going to require a truck after the
small accident I had with some wheel nuts driving it to the shop a few weeks ago. No chances this time.
Can't wait to drive it again, not only have I spent the last 7 months getting around in an SP23 but I also haven't driven the car with the new coilovers, tyres, wheels and pillowball rod ends. I think I've exhausted most of what I want to do prior to a 1MZ swap, slow and steady will get there in the end I guess.
Who knows, might actually make it to MR2 Nats.

Fitted a second hand Ohlins strut setup a couple of months back. Even on its softest setting the fronts were waaaay to hard for the street. Not that it matters now since I blew the front right when I hit a traffic island at 20km/h. Cracked a wheel also. That's the last time I ever do more than walking pace through blinding sunlight.
So I've just picked up wheels for $600. 17x7.5+30 and 17x8.5+35 and I'm loving the offset, the design and the price I paid for them. Unfortunately stock ride high is about as attractive as an exposed scrotum and my BBS lug nuts aren't suitable.

Haven't done much recently. Trying to modify a car, make trips interstate and pay for a holiday isn't easy. All on top of the cost of living in Sydney. Have managed the following since the last update.
New ball joints, tie rod ends and rotors
QFM A1RM pads
Whiteline swaybar and Delta V plates.
Does feel good on the road now.
Also put some photos up from the hillclimb I did last month.

Finally got some gear for my two today. Package from twos r us arrived at 5pm tonight after ordering the previous monday. Inside was:
93+ shift lever
RSe shift mount drop
Jon O short shift
Speed Source shift cable bushes
Aluminium shifter base bushes
and a new RHS park brake cable
after about 2 hours of stuffing around I had it all in and WOW what a difference... I'm not sure I'm comfortable with it yet. The shift is now VERY short which is nice but it feels so harsh. To be expected I guess given that I did all of the above at once. In hindsight I should have done one at a time to appreciate the difference they each made. I was surprised at the condition of the original shift cable bushes. They seemed to be in perfect nick, the inner rings still being perfectly circular. Not what I expected in a 1990.
Also the new park brake cable doesn't fit as I think it should. It's about 5cm longer than the LHS cable, maybe I don't have it routed correctly but I don't see how else it should be. It's too much slack for the inline splitter to compensate for so I'm hesitant to tighten it up too much. Weird.
Also fitted a full set of 205/45/16 Toyo T1Rs earlier in the week after discovered buggered sidewalls in ALL of my Eagle F1s. Very disappointed in those tyres not that they were all that impressive in the first place.
New 98 model shift knob arriving next week, can't wait.
Oh yeah I snapped the bloody aerial off in a regretful incident, I'll have to cough up for a new one and make sure it's wired right this time so that it retracts when the head unit is turned off.
