Hey man, I'm sure I've seen your car, its a 4 door right? All aussie cars are targa's, probably 90% of the ones imported from japan are targa's too, the hardtops are fairly rare.

I purchased new red SW20 Bathurst in mid 1998 (traded in my red SW20 1994). Factory tyres were Yokohama A022 Front 195/55/15 Rear 225/50/15. This was close to end of model so LSD & ABS (normally reserved for GT) were included to my surprise. Also had a factory adjustable rear wing (rear end plate access panels are removed with allen key to adjust the wing element. 3 settings). Im only 15 so im a bit of a noob when it comes to some things. any way im looking at buying a toyota mr2 bathurst 1996 to 1998 mr2. the person that started this form said that the toyota mr2 bathurst had 117kw. Is this EVERY single mr2 bathurst from 1994 to 1999 or did the later model bathurst mr2s come with more powerfull 3sges . sorry if u have already said this and i missed it .

SW20s manufactured after October 1993 has what is known as the Gen 3 engine. This is a revised engine which produced 129kW originally but was brought down to 125kW due to European emision regulations. All N/A SW20's have this no matter if it is GT or Bathurst. There is also the Gen 4 engine produced only after 1998, known as the BEAMS. This produced 154kW, however you won't find this in Australia as it was strictly sold in Japan. Australia only got the Gen 3 from 94-99

http://www.geocities.jp/mr2explosion/history-sw20.htm hey guys don't know if this has already been posted. But came across this site in Japanese. Seems to have comprehensive information on all revisions of the MR2. Including pictures of the revisions over the years. I know it's pretty good and complete when it has my paint code 8K9 in its colour section. lol

cazSW20---your car has 156bhp or 117kw at the flywheel and approx. 87kw at the wheels (depending on condition) and 190nm torque as stated, in factory form. Good luck !!

I have been searching for an AW11 BGB download (1985) and stumbled across the on MR2.com technical knowledgebase.
http://mr2.com/kb/html.php
It has info for AW11, SW20 & ZZW30. There is alot of info out there on the various MR2 websites, a pity it's so scattered and hard to find/remember.

I compiled Redbook's ADM specs for the SW20. Here goes...
MR2 Revisions REV 1 , 1990-1991
Chassis code SW20 Fuel 91 RON Weight 1248kg Compression 10 Power 117kw Torque 190Nm Tyres 195/60 VR14 85S Wheels 14x6.0 Other ABS standard on 91 model
REV 2, 1992 to early 1994 Same as Rev 1 except for
Weight 1267kg Power 115kw Tyres 195/55 R15 83V Wheels 15x6.0 Fuel economy 7.8L/100km Other No ABS
REV 3, 1994 mid – late Introduction of Bathurst and GT trim levels
Bathurst: Chassis code SW20R Fuel 95 RON Weight 1278kg Compression 10.3 Power 125kw Torque 186Nm Tyres 195/55 R15 84V Wheels 15x6.0 Fuel economy 7.5 L/100km Other Optional ABS
GT: Weight 1282 Other Standard ABS and luxury stuff
REV 4, 1995 - 1997 Same as above except for
Bathurst Weight 1151kg Power 129kw
GT Weight 1173kg
REV 5 Same as above except for
Power 125kw Other ABS standard all models
Phew!
This is only a list of specs for the ADM models. I'm guessing the driving dynamics are similarly progressively modified through the years like the ones in the US/UK
http://web.archive.o...h/revision1.htm A personal write up site. This one goes really deep into sussy and geometry - highly recommended even if it's UK.
Now... Can any owner please confirm the weights on Rev 3 and comment on why that one was so heavy? Is there any safe and legal methods to strip the weight by more than 100kg to get it like Rev 4? And whats with the reduction of torque on Rev 3+?
Thanks
