Havent done any more body work, I dont really have the tools needed to fix the guard and 1/4 panel. Will need to find someone pretty soon to get the engine bay done.

Started to clean the gearbox today and found some cracks in it. The top section in this photo is the 5th gear cover and a bit lower down. Can just see the passenger side drive shaft seal in the bottom left but the good new is I have hopefully scored a Caldina manifold.

You'll see many of these cracks. Factory faults I would suggest. The gearbox casings aren't all the best. Wait until you look inside the gearbox, there are these 'cracks' everywhere.

Totenkopf's right, these look like a common surface imperfection in alloy castings, I think they're called veining. I doubt they're actual cracks that go anything beyond the surface.

Yeah they dont look like they go right through. In one spot its looks worse than the others but still not right through(dosent stand out in the pics).
Should I have them welded up?
kameleon I like the price even better.

I wouldn't attempt welding the cast casing unless you have someone that knows 110% what they are doing, this will include preheating the whole piece. All your likely to do is cause it to warp, or even worse, create a BAD crack in another location. If its not leaking oil, its fine. You'd be terrified if you saw the internal casting.
