You should be able to pickup a pair of factory side indicators in either amber or clear fairly cheaply from Toyota, they're identical on a number of models (Corolla, Celica etc). I didn't want to mention it earlier but totally agree with your comments on the snorkels and wheels, it will look amazing once you have those sorted. The US MR2 forum (MR2OC) would be a good place to look for examples of sizing/offsets for a widebody, quite a few of them on there, or use one of the wheel calculators online to work out some sizing as well. How come you have to come all the way to Syd for an emissions test? Either way good luck with it, and if you have time while you're here I'm sure a few of us wouldn't mind having a bit of a look at your car haha

Oh Stop! You guys 'll turn my car red if you keep complimenting it![:I] but seriously thanks.
Does everyone hate snorkels... there hasn't been this much division on the styling of cars since the cyber kits were popular on mirages and hondas. They will be leaving my ride, to a better place if anyones interested it could be their place.
What are the guys and girls thoughts on mirrors? One of mine is tech screwed in place (due to the pivot point being broken i suspect), so Im thinking do I try and find a replacement unit or just bight the bullet and go for some ganadors or craft squares? If i go the Ganadors or the replacement mirror I'll have to paint to match the rest of the car (do the engine deck side panels too).
Soon to be fitted: Turbosmart Dual Port, new 2.5" piping

Well snorkels is personal taste. I have one (original Toms that came with the car from Japland), which I do like. It honestly depends on the rest of the car though. It tends to compliment the lines of my bodykit, but imo not the lines of a widebody. Snorkels also tend to stand out too much on a stock body. 2 snorkels looks like the "devils horns" imo, which isn't a good thing.
If you ask the Yanks, they HATE snorkels. To each their own though.

Devil's horns are excellent in context, unfortunately the correct context isn't Avril Lavigne. \m/ If dual snorkels are good enough for a Veyron they're good enough for an MR2. At least, that would be true if they were functional on an MR2. I'm in the "not a big fan" camp. Edit: Finally a widebody that isn't gold or orange...

Well as of thursday morning the horns are gone. and the car went into the shop along with two boxes of goodies for some cutting and welding. I had the awesome guys at Phillip Radiators weld up these new Intercooler pipes. In removing one of the snorkels it became apparent that it was fixed with some beutyl type silicon gunk and I'll need to get this off, what can be used to soften the gunk and not the paint?

PERSONALLY i would
replace the bov plumback pipe with a nicer one (braided perhaps) replace intake pipe to turbo with alluminium or stainless to match cooler piping replace stock catch can with a nicer alluminium or stainless one to match cooler piping put a heatshield on that manifold to stop heat transfer to the turbo piping making it much more hotter than it should be

Problem... I don't have the heat shield, I'll look into getting one from toyota along with a few other goodies i need unless anyones clearing a spare? Im thinking of going with an ARC Super induction box or a Gruppe M intake so I'll have a much nicer inlet tract then (see link) http://www.mr2australia.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17426 . The catch can isn't even thoroughly installed at the moment, I'll be tidying this up shortly i hope. However there are a few more pressing matters to attend to, like a small coolant leak above the fuel tank. Thanks for the tips!

I have a secret weapon against this leak... It's days are numbered, and some of you will be jealous. I have free occassional access to my very own four point hoist, so it'll be drop the fuel tank and then cop that hoses.
From researching this problem I believe these are reasonably common. Is it usually caused by degredation of the rubber lines, loosening of the clambs or too much pressure/overheating?
