MR2 Track Day Update to whet your appetite. Discussions finalised with Wakeield Park and locked for Monday/Tuesday January 16 and 17. All those who have expressed interest will be contacted indivdually but the following are a few points to note. We may not be able to use the Clubman Short Circuit due to the fact that that circuit is currently unlicenced and we are unable to obtain an AASA permit for its use. Wakefield Park will try and remedy this situation but there are no guarantees at this stage. Entrants will be capped at 50 no exceptions and entrants accepted on a first come first served basis. Expressions of interest already exceed 40. If you have not already done so, you can email your expression of interest to mtc2017@iinet.net.au Official Registration will be open soon Cabins and garages will be available from 4.00pm Sunday 15 January. WP now has a Mobil 98 pump on site at $1.60 per litre. No plans for E85 at this stage sorry. A number of potential entrants have expressed interest in a third day at WP on the Wednesday. If we can provide a minimum10 participants, Wakefield Park will run a Speed off the Streets Day on Wednesday 18. No timing or garages. Will be an day open to anyone who wants to come and we have no control over the numbers. This day is not officially part of our event. (Similar to MTC2015) Current cost for these days is $160 so expect $170 in 2017. Accommodation will be available on the Wednesday night for anyone who wants to rest and get an early getaway on Thursday morning. You wiill need an AASA Club or CAMS Level 2S or better licence to compete. Queensland Raceway licences are not valid at Wakefield Park. Day licences are $25 per day available on the day. Makes sense to apply for an annual AASA or CAMS licence at the following links, AASA http://aasa.com.au/index.php/licences CAMS http://www.cams.com.au/ge...petitors/licence-forms

Thanks for the update. I'm not fussed about not being able to do the clubman short circuit. IMO it's always been the least interesting event at MTC.

Same here, I'd rather have additional practice time on the full circuit, but that prevents simultaneous running of the hill climb/special stage.

Too much lag! It will more uninteresting having to wait for the hillclimb with nothing else to do. This was the advantage of the short circuit where two events could be run simultaneously.

I like the short circuit! It could be because it suits my car 😀

Due to the fact I have been forced out of operating MTC by the new management at Wakefield Park I will not be involved in any future MTC event at any level. To all the good people of MR2, thank you for all the support over the previous four years. To all the haters and fools I kept away to make this such a positive event, now is your chance to make an appearance Thanks for the memories, I wish you all the best.

Still hoping i can get a go at this. But our move might hamper things as it's still all up in the air on dates etc. and i just dont have the time to get the car ready at the moment. :( Really hope this continues on past 2017.
if it's not blown, it sucks

I'm pretty disappointed that you can't be involved Steve. Is it too late to consider Sydney Motorsport Park for MTC? Would other attendees consider SMP as an option? I must admit I liked Wakefield because of the accommodation and felt it was pretty central for people travelling from other states, but I think SMP could cater to everyone needs even better. I believe we could even race later in the afternoon than what Wakefield allows. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this....
