    Definitely keen on another MTC.
I'm still learning Wakefield Park, and with the accommodation on site, i can't think of a better venue, so i'd prefer to keep it there. I don't know any other location that could offer the variety of events either.

I'm keen as mustard for next year. I love the format of Wakefield Park and the accommodation on the Track as mentioned above, however I'm just as happy to travel elsewhere if required. If Brisbane is an option I would suggest Morgan Park as it is a tight technical circuit like Wakefield and offers a good number of circuit configurations.

I'll volunteer to assist with organisation, however I have no experience in the area and bugger all time this year (study + vice president of the local Kindy). The closest I have been to Marshalling an event was Pit Lane & Corporate Box usher at Bathurst many years ago. That said, I'll help out if and where I can.

Although Queensland sounds like a good idea, Wakefield is a good central location. Imagine the distance Pat (stuka) would have to travel from Tassie to Queensland! Winton might work too. I don't think we'd have enough people willing to travel 2000km + to SA to make it viable. Phillip Island would be a great experience though!

Agreed Rick. Sydney / Melbourne are about equal distance from Qld & SA, hosting the MTC further afield would likely exclude a lot of the regular attendees.

The MR2 Australia Trackday Challenge held over the past four years has been absurdly good value for money. Most single day trackdays at Wakefield which include timing have cost in excess of $220 per day. In 2017 the going rate appears to be around $280 per day. These days do not include accommodation ($60 per bed per night), garage hire ($50 per garage per day) and no as well as no BBQ and catering in the evening. And of course no assistance from the likes of Paul Brell and Jeff Fear.

The MR2 Australia Trackday Challenge has already cemented its self as a MUST DO event in the MR2 calendar with entrants from 5 states and the ACT and a particularly high return rate amongst the participants who enjoy both the on track and off track, almost family reunion like nature of the event. Must be that MR2 DNA. This is a tribute to the efforts and enthusiasm of Steve Godfrey and the small group of volunteers who have assisted with the organisatiion and conduct of the event.

Wakefield Park, whilst still owned by the Benalla Auto Club, has recently had a change of management staff and appears to be making some substantial changes to its business model, none of which the least is a general increase in the cost of circuit hire and facilities. Previously we have been able to negotiate some concessional pricing because of the timing of the event at the beginning of January. Those who attended three days in 2016 in 35 plus degree heat will understand why but this seems lost on the new Wakefield Park management.

As Rick so rightly points out, Wakefield Park is probably the best geographically located to attract the numbers to make the continuation of this event viable. Costs will inevitably rise for 2017 but I have faith in the MR2 Australia Trackday Challenge community to meet the "challenge" facing us and continue to provide this flagship, high value event for years to come.

The cost of the event isn't an issue for me - it's always been a fantastic event that can't be valued in $ alone.
Travel costs have always been a bigger problem for me lol.
Again, i wish i lived closer so i could do more, but i hope the video footage that i am still uploading helps in some small way.

The MR2 Trackway challenge at Wakefield is the go for me also.

Sure it could be closer at Winton, but no cabins and the like is a no go for me. I race and have fun, but the social aspect is more where it is at for me. Otherwise i could just as easily go to another closer/cheaper track day instead.

Hopefully your farm negotiation skills can shine again and get it sorted Pete!

I do not believe MTC needs to change anything at Wakefield Park aside from securing a fair deal for everyone involved. Timing for the event would be the only aspect that needs to be changed.
Having MTC in any other state would effect a number of entrants so it needs to be centred around its current location.

As the MR2 Nationals are held in 2017, we need to keep this in mind for consideration of dates so there is no issue of effecting peoples budget of time and money for either event.

Having a MTC style event in S.A. for the week of the MR2 Nationals would really bolster the numbers for the MR2 Nationals and allow us to run a decent two-three day, multistage event for all involved. I have established contact with Mallala and inspected the facility, have secured a respectable price with management. Just need to see if we can camp at the track which would make for a great few days away.
It is possible to run something similar to Wakefield as there is a fantastic skid pan as well as the track itself. This could be backed up with use of one or two of the local hill climbs so there is some great potential there for varied events.
Its something I would really enjoy doing for the Victorian and South Australian crew.

Another option is incorporating MTC2017(at Wakefield) around MR2 Nationals. We have our MTC meet then all drive to Adelaide for a day or two of driving. This would save a second trip for all the interstate people. The only problem I have with this is my mental energy as I am usually pretty exhausted by the Tuesday night..

I like the idea of having an event arround the same time as the nationals, as it means we would be closer to SA.

I better pack 3 or 4 alternators if thats the case

Definitely want an MTC2017. I would travel but do think the setup at Wakie cant be beat. Being close to nationals may work for me as could go track car at MTC and then drive road car to SA.
Wouldn't mind having a go at Winton and have an Uncle that lives at phillip Island so that's on the bucket list.
